Grautaneset Artic Dome

At the foot of the spectacular mountain Tustnastabben, lies the scenic Grautaneset. On one side you have a view of the ocean where you can enjoy watching the sun disappear into the sea at sunset. On the other side you can gaze up the mountainside of Tustnastabben, stretching 830 meters above sea level. The dome lies undisturbed close to the mountain side, hidden away from the stress and toil of society. Bring the one you love and experience nature like you never have before.

Everything is in place to make your stay at Grautaneset an enjoyable one. You will arrive upon the dome after a 350-meter walk through the forest. The dome has a toilet, shower, hot tub, refrigerator, and stove, as well as charging options for you phone or tablet. A barbeque and comfortable outdoor seating are available right outside the main entrance. The beds will be made and the hot tub ready for you when you arrive.

Grautaneset is not far from the ocean. This makes it possible to fish, swim, or simply relax on the rocks and enjoy life with little to no effort. Fishing poles, life jackets, and large towels are all ready and available.

Aure municipality, and particularly the island Stabblandet that Grautaneset is a part of, is known for fantastic mountain hiking possibilities. There are two mountain ranges at Stabblandet – the compact Innerbergssalen/Stabben along the west side of the island, and the mountains Storøra and Litløra that continue into a smaller mountain ridge on the east side of the island. Between these two lies the valley Soleimsdalen. Innersalen is the highest mountain in Aure municipality, rising 908 meters above sea level, and is also the highest island peak in the south of Norway. The island Tustna is located just across the bay from Grautaneset, another place where you will find excellent opportunities for fishing, hiking, and exploring.
