Exit!

Overview

11 May–8 September, Munch Museum

In 2020, a new Museum for Edvard Munch's art will open its doors in Oslo. The exhibition Exit! marks the conclusion of the museum's tenure at its current location, and summarises an important chunk of Norwegian museum history. The exhibition conveys historical highlights and tidbits, while also looking ahead at the new museum. You'll get to experience some of Munch's best known and iconic artworks, including Scream, Madonna and Vampire

The museum's history is full of drama, big cultural happenings and surprising events. Did you know, for instance, that Ivan the rottweiler lived at the museum between 1967 and 1972, and got dog food in return for guarding the building? And do you know what really happened when Scream and Madonna were stolen in 2004? You'll learn about this, and much more, in what will be the last large exhibition in the soon-to-be former Munch Museum.
