# Erlend Loe now ends up both opening and closing our anniversary week at Ladekaia.
The first literary evening with Erlend in April sold out early, and the opening of the anniversary week on Tuesday, September 8th is already sold out, BUT don't despair. Mr. Loe will return to end this week with another extra performance, and that on a Sunday afternoon!
**Eat before reading?**
Before Erlend Loe takes the stage, Ladekaia offers a tasty cheese and tapas platter that can be enjoyed from arrival and throughout the evening. A simple and atmospheric way to turn the afternoon into a full evening.
The cheese & tapas platter includes:
Salami, wild sausage, cured ham, parmesan, blue cheese, beer-crackers, lettuce, tomato, pickled red onion, beans, focaccia, flatbread, aioli, green olives and potato salad.
**Did you know that this event is part of something bigger?**
In 2026, Dora 3 and Ladekaia will be 10 years old, and we will be celebrating with a whole anniversary week by the fjord. This is one of the performances you don't want to miss.
**About the performance with Erlend Loe:**
This will be a real reading marathon that will last 2-3 hours, of course with well-deserved breaks along the way, where the audience can stretch their legs and buy something at the bar.
Erlend Loe is known as a unique reader – with humor, warmth and perfect timing. If you have heard any of his books as audiobooks, you know what we are talking about.
**About "Kukene/Kukane":**
"One day Tander's penis falls off while he's in the shower. It's not ideal and a bad fit, to say the least."
This is how Erlend Loe's novel "Kukene/Kukane" begins – a story about loss, attachment and freedom, about the body, shame and what it really means to be whole.
The story is absurd, funny and thought-provoking. In typical Loe style, it balances lightness and depth, with an eye for the human that is both tender and burlesque.
The book received a number of glowing reviews when it was published last fall, and it was also nominated for the Booksellers Award.
**From the reviews:**

_"Loe is funny, very funny."_ Dagbladet
_"The author's dry-witted style is perfect for absurd stories like this."_ Stavanger Aftenblad
_"Only Loe can come up with something so wild and original, there's enough material here to cure a mild autumn depression."_ Adresseavisen
_"Loe is, as always, a funny writer. He writes with an ease that is admirable."_ VG
