Herr Nilsson and The Essential Ether join forces for an evening that gives you some of the best indie Bergen has to offer, from two quite different sides of the pop spectrum.

Do you think Rain and She Said She Said were the coolest Beatles songs, that music history peaked in 1991, and that Bergen should be a county in northern England?

We do not know if The Essential Ether thinks all of this, but it sounds a bit like that in their dreamy shoegaze mixed with good melodies, songs that got none other than Ride to hire them as support last year. The record Ten Indie Essentials was celebrated as one of the best Norwegian pop records by Deichman musikk in 2024.

Herr Nilsson follows up Sun Sets In Skuteviken (2022) with their sixth album Good Morning Rock And Roll, a record stuffed with good pop melodies, vocal harmonies and chiming guitar, drawing inspiration from quirky and melodic guitar pop all the way from the early 60s to today. The band has since 2003 delivered melodic and life-affirming pop with energetic live shows, and the new record takes this to new heights.
