During Olavsfest, Victoria Ulriksen invites you to a magnificent and thought-provoking concert experience where the music explores the many nuances of truth. Through a powerful and contrasting program, she takes the audience on a journey from the mythical and fateful to the inner, spiritual and deeply human.
Despite her young age, Ulriksen has already established herself as one of Europe's most remarkable organ talents. She has performed in some of Europe's most prestigious concert venues, and her concerts are characterized by both technical brilliance and a rare ability to convey the emotional depth of the music. In this concert, she puts together a program that not only shows the full tonal spectrum of the instrument, but also questions how we perceive and understand truth.
In the program "Shades of Truth", Ulriksen wants to illuminate the many shades of truth. The program has been specially put together for the concert during Olavsfest to explore the different aspects of the concept. In Wagner, truth is explored in the mystical destiny and the inner emotional truth. In Reger, the theological truth in Luther's chorale, in faith, contrasts, and in the struggle between good and evil. Mendelssohn deals with the truth in the struggle between resistance and faith, while Saint-Saëns deals with the truth in the macabre fate that death is inevitable. Finally, Duruflé explores the truth about man's inner contradictions, conflicts, and contrasts.
