Aluminium museum on Hisøy island

Travel back in time to grandma's or even great-grandma's kitchen, see her cute little electric play stove with miniature pots and pans, grandpa's well-equipped backpack with everything from lunch box to egg holder and spare ski tip in aluminum. Or what about his electric tie iron? All this and more can be admired at the Aluminum Museum on Hisøy.

The collection to the Aluminum Museum on Hisøy includes 3,000 utility items for kitchens and everyday needs in aluminum from the period 1900 to 1975. The items have been found in second-hand shops and at flea markets throughout Europe. The collection started in 2006 and moved into a newly built museum premises in 2014.
