Breiset - Grytingen Ål in Hallingdal

Easy and nice hike in high mountain terrain, where parts of the trail is an old east-west trade route. The hike starts by the mountain farms at Breiset, located as far on Oppheimsåsen as you can drive. Toll road (cash and card). The terrain is very easy to locate in, and you follow a clearly visible trail from the parking lot. The start of the hike is mostly on dry ground, and the two brooks are easy to cross over. After a while the terrain becomes more marshy, but by Svartedyssa where it used to be difficult to pass without getting wet on the feet, they have upgraded the trail with wide steady railway sleepers. So this has now become the nicest area of the hike. You are now underneath Grytingurda at 1220 masl, where the trail divides and you shall follow the trail to the top of Grytingen at 1462 masl. Excellent view!! If you wish a longer hike you can go down from the top of Grytingen to Grytingurda where the trail divides. This time follow the trail on the southside of Grytingen and walk towards west until you reach Versjøen and Systerskardet. The hike is about 16 km tour/return and takes about 5 hours to walk.
