Lindesnes Bygdemuseum
The museum have a collection of old textiles and clothes from the district, from the later part of 1800s.
Lindesnes Bygdemuseum, a museum of rural life located in the Cultural Senter at Vigeland, consists of an open museum magazine in the basement, where most of the collection´s 2100 objects are gathered.
Of particular note are the unique collection of knives and the textiles section.
The objects that are a part of the collection shown in the museum today was for years stored at various places around the district.
The museum also have a collection of old textiles and clothes from the district, from the latter part of 1800s.
There is also a valuable collection of the woodcarving work and tools from the local culture that arose around the old plot, Herstøl, where Tarald and his son Elias Louen lived and worked.
Otherwise there is a collection of old farm tools, carpentry tools, shoemaking tools, some objects from the coastal traditions of the district and several other objects used in the every day life in older days.
The museum also manages a collection of about 11000 old photos from the district.
