Beginner cross-country ski course in Tromsø

This tour is operated by Tromsø Outdoor.

After a short drive from Tromsø city centre, you will arrive at prepared ski trails on Tromsøya. The trails are located in a forested area surrounded by birch and spruce trees.

The course is suitable for guests who have never tried cross-country skiing before. You will begin on flat terrain, where the guide will show you how to put on your skis, maintain your balance and glide forwards.

As you become more confident, you will learn additional basic techniques and practise on small hills. The group has a maximum of eight participants, allowing the guide to provide individual instruction along the way.

During the course, you will take a break and enjoy a hot drink and traditional Norwegian lefse. After the course, you can choose to rent skis and continue practising on your own.

Minimum age: 12 years

Please bring:

• Warm clothing suitable for the weather
• Windproof and waterproof outerwear

Number of participants: Minimum 2 and maximum 8 participants.

Difficulty: Easy. The course is designed for beginners and starts on flat terrain.

Meeting time and place:

• 9 AM departure: Meet by 8:50 AM (08:50) at Tromsø Outdoor, Fredrik Langes gate 14, 9008 Tromsø
• 1:30 PM departure: Meet by 1:20 PM (13:20) at Tromsø Outdoor, Fredrik Langes gate 14, 9008 Tromsø
• April departures: Meet by 2:20 PM (14:20) at Prostneset Port Terminal, Samuel Arnesens gate 5, 9008 Tromsø

Departure time: 9 AM (09:00), 1:30 PM (13:30) or 2:30 PM (14:30) in April. Check your booking confirmation for your selected departure.

Duration: Approximately 3 hours.
