The city's pride was carved in stone with a touch of national romantic novelism and Art Nouveau style.
The pride of the town was carved in stone with influences from national romantic neoclassicism and Art Nouveau. Festiviteten has served many purposes over the years: opera, concerts, theatre, wrestling competitions, bingo, cinema, jail cells, courtrooms, goldsmiths, church services, and much more.
In 1928, the sensational era of opera performances began at Festiviteten. In recent decades, the Opera Festival Weeks have been held every February, a two-week celebration with full-scale operas, operettas, musicals, and various concerts. There are opera performances in cafés and restaurants, and the shopping centers are decorated with opera-inspired details.
