Stretching over 150 km from Kristiansund Airport to Halsa, the trail takes you through some of the region’s most varied and stunning landscapes. From dramatic mountains to coastal views, calm water, and some waterfalls.

The route features 26 DNT cabins, each with its own charm and comfort. The cabins are well-equipped with everything you need for overnight stays, cooking, and relaxation – from full kitchens and showers to cozy common rooms where you can gather after a long day on the trail. Many cabins also offer access to boats, fishing gear, and trails that extend your adventure even further.

Options for All Levels

Fjordruta is designed so you can tailor your hike to your own pace. Whether you want to complete the entire route in one long trek or prefer shorter sections with overnight stays at select cabins, there are options for both. You can start with an easy day hike along the coastal mountains, then move into more challenging highland terrain in Innerdalen and Sunndalsfjella. The landscape alternates between forested hills and open plateaus, offering both peace and adventure in the same journey.
