Glass Elevator – Arendal’s Sky-High Viewpoint

In just a few seconds, you rise from the city centre to one of Arendal’s most stunning viewpoints – with panoramic views of Galtesund, Hisøy, Tromøy, and the beautiful southern coast.

The elevator itself is an attraction: it travels 40 metres through the mountain before emerging in a 20-metre-high glass shaft, offering spectacular views as you ascend.

The ride is free every day from 06:00 to 22:00.

At the top, you can explore several viewpoints on Fløyheia – or simply enjoy the scenery of the city, the sea, and the sky reflected in Galtesund.

Practical information

• Access: Entrance is located about 50 metres inside the city tunnel.

• Capacity: Two elevators with a total capacity of 42 people.

• Accessibility: Wheelchair and bicycle friendly.

• Tickets: Free during daytime and evening. Access outside opening hours (before 06:00 or after 22:00) can be purchased via the Solver app.
