Historical boutique hotel in the heart of Oslo – where the glamour of the past meets the comfort of the present.

Right in the heart of Oslo you’ll find Hotel Christiania Teater, an iconic landmark with a historical heritage that includes hundred years of culture, history, and powerful emotion. When the doors opened in 1918 the building became Norway’s first permanent opera stage. Since then, the building has played a large variety of roles: as a variety theatre and cinema to a concert hall and revue theatre. Today, the heritage lives on in the boutique hotel where the glamorous past and modern comfort lives side by side.

How many rooms is the hotel equipped with?
The hotel has 112 rooms in seven different categories, ranging from intimate single rooms to spacious suites overlooking Eidsvolls plass – the square in front of the Parliament building. Throughout the hotel, you’ll find a rich art collection featuring everything from modern to classical works. In addition, the hotel offers the concept rooms in Behind the Curtain, an entire floor with 10 unique rooms inspired by the many professions of the theatre world.

What other facilities does the hotel offer?
Christiania Teater features three flexible meeting rooms and a historic theatre that still hosts productions throughout the year. The three-storey Restaurant Teatro includes one restaurant and two bars, where you can enjoy award-winning Italian pizza, homemade gelato, and a lively atmosphere from afternoon until late in the evening.

Where is the hotel located?
With its central location in Stortingsgata, you can experience many of the city’s highlights right on your doorstep. Aker Brygge, the Royal Palace Park, the National Museum, Akershus Fortress, and the main street Karl Johans gate are all just a few minutes away. Here, in the very rhythm of the city, the drama of the past blends with the energy of the present to create an experience unlike any other.
