If you are an experienced skier or snowboarder, you are already halfway to mastering snow kiting. You get the rest from our skilled instructors on the course. We practice in different areas near Rauland Ski Center depending on wind direction and weather conditions. We hold the theory part at Austbø hotell. We also create a separate program for groups. Get in touch and we will find the solution for your group.

If you need accommodation, we recommend Austbø Hotel, Tel: 988 90 333

You must bring yourself:

Own ski equipment. Preferably alpine, randone or telemark skiing. Let me know if you want to use a snowboard.

Helmet is mandatory. We also recommend back braces and knee pads as it helps keep you warm as well as protecting you if you fall

Extra clothes and food/drink

Prices

We go against the grain and have no price increase. The course fee for the full package (independent rider), NOK 2400. It includes kite equipment, material and approx. 12 hours of instruction, spread over a full day on Saturday and Sunday. Start is at 09:00 on day 1 and at 10:00 on day 2, at Austbø hotel. A trip with the lift to get to the practice area is bought by the individual as needed.

The course fee for the introductory course is NOK 450 per person. It includes kite equipment (Trainer kite) and 3 hours of instruction. Meeting place and time, by agreement. If you want to proceed to the full package at a later date, the amount will be deducted from the course fee.

If it stops blowing, or becomes too windy while we are at it, we cannot refund the fee, but you will be offered to join a later course when it suits you.

As a course participant, you get a 10% discount on all equipment we sell from Peter Lynn.

Course content

The theory part is about 3 + 1 hours inside, and the rest is practice outside with training, review of all checkpoints and active guidance. We teach according to the International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) standard and set-up. For the full package (independent rider), we take you through 44 learning points. We run a checklist of the 10 most important things you should know. The aim is that after completing the course you will have enough knowledge and skills - to be able to safely continue on your own and develop as a kiter.
