    Along the "Strandpromenaden" and near by the city center of Kristiansand is Bystranda.

    Bystranda in Kristiansand features a beautiful sandy beach, seating areas, a swimming pier and a relaxing, palm-lined atmosphere. The beach is very family-friendly with shallow, child-friendly waters.

    Right next to it is Tangen, offering a climbing net, fishing spots, a viewpoint, boccia courts and table tennis tables.

    Close to Bystranda, you will also find the Aquarama waterpark and the Scandic Kristiansand Bystranda hotel.

    Bystranda is also the host of Scandinavia’s largest beach festival, Palmesus.

    The beach includes a dedicated bathing ramp for visitors with reduced mobility.

    Blue Flag – environmental certification for beaches and marinas
    The Blue Flag is an exclusive distinction held by only a few beaches in Norway, and Bystranda in Kristiansand is one of them. Visitors can rely on high standards for the environment, safety, service and water quality, all in line with strict requirements. The Blue Flag season in Norway lasts from 5 June to 31 August.
