Welcome to unforgettable experiences on the mountain in the heart of the artic nature. At Lapphaugen you can stay in your own cabin. There you can make your own food, or you can try our cosy restaurant where the locals go dining. We also have places for motorhomes, caravans and tents. Most of the cabins have a bathroom with shower and toilet. Are you traveling on budget, we also offer cabins without water installed. Winter Here you can experience the ice and snow with snowshoes, ski activities and ice climbing. Our nearest neighbour is the mountains, so here you can do your winter activities just outside the door. If you want to visit a ski slope, you will find it in Narvik, in Sweden or in Bardu- only a small drive away. Ice fishing is popular. And you can do it on your own, or join us on one of our organized tours. Summer In the area you will find several possibilities for hiking. You can do canoeing, or visit Polar Park. Lapphaugen is excellent as a basecamp for experiences in the region. The arctic light Both in the summer and winter time you can feel the special light we have in the north. Often, we can see the northern lights dancing on the sky. And to tell you a secret, the best time to experience the northern lights is in September and October. In January we have the most beautiful sky you can imagine. Without the sun, the sky is painted in an amazing colour palette. In summer time the sun never sets and so it never becomes dark.
