Try a short summit tour in Hardanger! Lilletopp in Tyssedal offers a fantastic view over the Hardangerfjord.
Take a short summit hike with unbeatable views in Hardanger! Lilletopp in Tyssedal is beautifully situated between the two national parks Hardangervidda and Folgefonna. Here you can sit on the edge of the rock and look out across the magnificent fjord landscape of Sørfjorden. What gives the hike that little something extra is the protected power plant with the watchman’s residence at Lilletopp, and the navvies’ realm inside the mountain.
About the hike (approx. 45 minutes one way)
Parking is available at Tyssohallen at P1. At the Kraftmuseet by the fjord, you receive a parking ticket for 3 hours’ short-term parking when you purchase an admission ticket to the museum. You walk for fifteen minutes along the road before taking the trail for half an hour across rocky terrain and up steps in historic surroundings. The view is fantastic all the way, and you are constantly close to cultural heritage sites that tell the story of the visionary work to provide electric power in the early 1900s.
Wear good hiking shoes and bring drinks for both two- and four-legged hikers. There is no drinking water along the trail or at the top. Please note that there are also no toilets at the top.
