A new way to experience the fantastic views of the mountains and fjord in Romsdalen
The Romsdalen gondola is Norway's first gondola built on sustainability principles. Just up from the town centre of Åndalsnes, and surrounded by the famous Romsdal mountains, you will arrive at the top of Nesaksla mountain, at 708 metres above sea level. Here you will get a 360-degree view of the impressive Romsdalshorn, Vengetindene, Åndalsnes town centre, lush valleys and the emerald green Rauma river awaits you at the top. In the restaurant Eggen, you can enjoy the view along with a delicious meal. You can also explore the area at the top, with short walks that lead to several viewing points.
Tour description
A 5 minute gondola ride from the fjord to Nesaksla. Coffee, cake, lunch or dinner can be purchased at the top. You have time to enjoy the wonderful views, and walk along the paths, before heading back down to Åndalsnes. You can take the gondola down or you may choose a hike back to the harbour along a steep path with some steps. If you walk down you will also pass the Rampestreken viewpoint.
