The cruise departs from central Bergen, making it an easy and convenient adventure for visitors. When leaving the harbor, you’ll pass iconic historic sites and waterfront landmarks before sailing into the peaceful fjords surrounding the city. The route takes you through the Byfjord (meaning city fjord), Salhusfjord and Osterfjord, where steep mountains, charming shores and quiet bays create a landscape that changes constantly, and becomes more dramatic with every turn.

The true highlight of the journey is Mostraumen. Here, the fjord narrows dramatically, bringing you right up close to towering cliffs, lush mountainsides, and powerful waterfalls that tumble down into the fjord. Your captain expertly navigates through this narrow passage, offering an up-close fjord experience.

Winter Cruise

The Mostraumen Fjord Cruise runs every day, rain or shine. During the winter months, the innermost part of the fjord can freeze over, where fresh water mixes with seawater and creates brackish water. If there is too much ice for safe passage, the captain will choose an alternative route in this area. Conditions can change from hour to hour and are beyond anyone's control, so this does not constitute grounds for a refund.

Every effort is made to give guests a great experience, even on days when the forces of nature are challenging.

About the boat:

The boat is a modern sightsseeing boat that has plenty of space outside and inside, not to mention a stunning view from the panoramic deck. There is space for strollers. Food is not sold onboard, but feel free to bring your own lunch.
