Accommodation in authentic farmhouses at Fossane Gard in Hjelmeland

At the remote Fossane Farm, you will find peace amidst a spectacular landscape, surrounded by waterfalls, mountains, and farm animals such as sheep, dogs, cats, and hens. Here, you can stay in charming timber houses, over 100 years old, with grass roofs and stories in their walls. The farm is idyllically located in Vormedalen, just 20 minutes from the nearest shop and a little over an hour from Stavanger – far enough away to leave everyday life completely behind.

At Fossane Farm, you can relax and completely disconnect from your daily routine. You can stargaze, discover new deer trails in the woods, or pick berries and mushrooms. The opportunities around you are endless. Canoes are ready for a paddle on Giskelivatnet, and for those wanting to explore further, the mountain pasture Subbeli is available to our guests. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of deer, elk, or stags. You can also explore the area by e-bike while our historic power station generates electricity to charge the batteries. Fossane Farm is an excellent base for all kinds of hikes, both short and long, such as Skomakarnibbå, the Ritland Crater, Eventyrskogen, and the Pulpit Rock.

Bjødlandsfolgå, Johnsenhuset, and Folgå – our rental houses – have original timber walls, and each house has its own story. All houses come with a shower, toilet, and fully equipped kitchen. Here, charm and comfort go hand in hand, but you’ll need to do the washing-up yourself.
Janneke and Martijn warmly welcome you to Fossane Farm! They are happy to share tips about activities and hidden gems in the area – or take you on a tour of the power station to show you how the farm generates its own electricity. Want to meet the farm animals? They will gladly introduce you to the sheep and share stories about life on the farm.
