Marked walking path in historic surroundings from St. Olav's Church at Avaldsnes leading to Bukkøy. Go for a walk through the area were Norway's first king set up his court. Walk through the beautiful landscape or go for a refreshing dip in the sea. Parking and toilets are available.

Living Viking Farm: Just a 15 minute walk from the church is the Viking Farm, where visitors can try the medieval way of life and work. In summer the longhouse, round house and fire houses are open to visitors. Small coves offer barbeque facilities and bathing. Meet a host of Vikings for activities and guided tours every day from 12-4.30 from medio June to medio August. Guided walks at 14.00 every day, in norwegian and english. At the Viking Farm you can learn some of the skills that Vikings used for fun and games, at work and in battle. Perfect for young and old! Tickets available from Nordvegen History Centre or Viking Farm (cash only). Admission to the area is free.

Each year the Viking Festival on Bukkøy gathers “Vikings” from all over Europe.
