Cano hire - Haldenvassdragets kanalmuseum, Ørje

Canoes for rent

Do you want to experience beautiful nature and at the same time follow in the footsteps of those who lived before us? With quiet padel roofs, you get close to the wildlife and get a closeness to the waterway and the landscape. At the Haldenvassdragets Kanalmuseum, they have canoes for hire for those who want to get on the water for a few hours. The Ørje river is one of the most exciting places in the Halden Canal as the channel here is narrow and you get the feeling of being far away from civilization. There are also two gaps adjacent to the Ørje river.

In the Haldenkanalen, you can embark on an exciting paddling trip between locks and veteran boats while you are in the middle of lush nature with many animals and birds. If you start at the museum, you can paddle south through Ørjeelva, so that you come out into Lifjorden, then Lake Øymarksjøen. Alternatively, you can sluice up to Rødnessjøen and spend the day there.

Haldenvassdraget's Canal Museum on Ørje has seven canoes for hire. It may be good to make an appointment in advance in case of heavy traffic.

Prices:
Daily price within the museum's opening hours (up to 5 hours) NOK 300
Daily rental (over 5 hours): NOK 400
2 days NOK 800
3 days: NOK 1200
Renting out over 3 days: NOK 300 per day

Life jackets and oars are included, but you must state the weight classes you want the life jackets in. (If we cannot comply with weight classes, you may have to bring this yourself).
