In 1916, Edvard Munch bought the estate Ekely outside Oslo. He lived and worked at Ekely for 28 years.
Munch lived and worked for 28 years at Ekely until his death at the age of 80, on January 23, 1944.
Only his winter studio remains; today it is rented out to artists.
Open to the public on weekends in summer. The rest of the year the studio is open to the public only during exhibitions and concerts.
