Nesflaten

Energihotellet at Nesflaten

Book

Energihotellet is idyllic located close to Suldalsvatnet on Nesflaten in Ryfylke, and focuses on local food, culture and the history of hydroelectric power production in Suldal.

Energihotellet, residential area, and power station of Hydro's Røldal-Suldal facility in Nesflaten were designed by the Norwegian architect Geir Grung in the 1960s. The Norwegian Scenic Route Ryfylke (Rv. 13) runs through the village, and the unique area around the design hotel is one of the finest and best-preserved examples of functionalist style in Norway.

Design and Architecture

At the design hotel, guests can experience the minimalist approach to architecture of modernism through clean and simple design with large surfaces and clean lines. This architecture creates a harmonious balance that guests can enjoy while admiring the spectacular views and the beautiful nature surrounding the hotel.

Accommodation

The hotel has 29 comfortable rooms with good beds, showers, and TVs, as well as products from RÅ organic skincare for an extra pleasant experience. Families with children, guests with special needs, and four-legged friends are welcome.

Meetings and Events

The energy hotel is a great place to gather. The meeting rooms are tailored for businesses seeking a peaceful working environment. The hotel has meeting rooms for up to 35 people and can organize meeting spaces for more locally in Nesflaten when needed. Together, we customize meetings, stays, meals, and activities.

Restaurant

At Energihotellet's restaurant, you will have a unique taste experience based on locally sourced ingredients from Ryfylke.

Both the rooms, the dining room, and the lounge have the same fantastic view. Here, you can enjoy local food while sitting in the original 1960s furniture.

Focus on good experiences

Energihotellet focuses on creating enjoyable experiences related to accommodation, local food, culture, and conveying the history of hydro power in Suldal. The area has an exciting history. For example, the boat trip with Suldalsdampen on Suldalsvatnet and the cart road up Brattlandsdalen were promoted in England from the 1880s as an important part of the Discovery route.

The design hotel is well located in relation to Suldalsosen with shops, trips to Røldal and Hardanger, and Kolbeinstveit bygdetun.
