At the beach, Orrestranden, is the information centre, Friluftshuset på Orre. This is a stop along the Norwegian Scenic Route Jæren, a visit worth the while. The centre includes information about the Jæren beaches as a nature reserve and a bird and plant-protected area.

The information centre, Friluftshuset på Orre, informs on the important role this landscape has in terms of wildlife and nature reservation. The beaches of Jæren are nature reserves as well as bird and plant-protected areas. About the centre
The Friluftshuset på Orre was built in 1987, and then further extended in 1992. The building unfortunately burnt down in 1999 but was rebuilt after the same drawings and reopened again in 2002. The building is designed by the architect Per Line. The information centre is built in a circle providing shelter from bad and windy weather. On the days when the weather is good though, you can relax outdoors in picnic areas with a barbecue.
The centre has become a regional culture house for art exhibitions, concerts and events of different types. Both national and international artists have performed in concerts here. Explore theme exhibitions on nature and recreation in addition to media programmes combining nature, poetry and music.
