Gammel-Kleppe Heritage Hotel

Come to Gammel-Kleppe and feel alive! Gammel-Kleppe Heritage Hotel is 26 minutes and 34 seconds drive from the centre of Otta.

With Gammel-Kleppe as a base you can easily reach the national parks of Rondane, Dovre and Jotunheimen, take a trip to Besseggen, Glittertind or Galdhøpiggen or drive to the Troll Wall, experience the Troll Trail or Geiranger Fjord.

You can go on a musk-ox safari on Dovrefjell, raft the river Sjoa, take a hike with or without a guide in the mountains, go on a bike ride on our recommended routes, enroll in cooking courses with Arne Brimi or try out other local specialities, visit the Brimiland climbing park, the bakery in Lom, check out the stave churches or discover other fascinating local history. Ask us – we’re glad to be of assistance.

However, it is possible to try something completely different – just stay here! Sleep until late, then just relax. All our rooms have a small library. Find a good read with a good cup of coffee or tea, which we’ll gladly serve to you inside or out.

Our 9 rooms and suites are all different, decorated with unique artworks and antiques, and have history in their very walls. Some rooms have fireplaces and we’re happy to assist with a 2 minute fire-lighting course.

Breakfast is served in the lounge in the main building, made with fresh farm eggs and local produce. Dinner is also served at the hotel – please make a reservation. Our speciality is reindeer fillet inspired by the mountain philosopher and reindeer hunter Jo Tjøstolvson Kleppe, also known as Jo Gjende. We are fully licensed. Admittedly, we don’t have a large wine cellar, but the wines we serve are good, and we only serve barrel-matured akvavits.

You may want to try our local feel-good treatment – a wood-fired sauna followed by a cold hose shower.

We welcome groups of friends, corporate groups, families and celebrations (birthdays, confirmations and weddings) and are happy to tailor your stay according to your requirements. In collaboration with Lemonsjøen lodge, we can accommodate up to 110 people for dinner at Gammel-Kleppe.
