Ice climbing in Lyngen - Lyngen Adventure

Ice climbing in Lyngen is truly a unique opportunity. Our certified guides ensure that literally anyone can try this exciting activity. No previous experience needed.

A truly unique opportunity! Hike with us through ancient winter woodlands, and try ice climbing on a frozen waterfall. On all our climbing trips we use a secure technique called top-roping. This means that together with our certified guides, ice climbing can be done by literally anyone. No previous experience needed.

To ensure personal follow-up, we keep our groups small (max. 4 people per guide) so it's advisable to book well in advance.

Practical Information:
This experience require a 40 minute moderate hike before we reach the icefall. We strongly advice that you bring suitable warm clothes for the outdoors. We will supply you with warm shoes suitable for climbing for the duration of the activity and hike.

Duration
Activity: 5 hours or more (depending on group size and stamina)
The activity duration varies and strongly depends on the group. We take our time and do our best to ensure that all guests get a good experience,so we recommend that you don't book this activity if you have a strict schedule the same day.

Departure from Lyngseidet: 10:45am (Strandveien 16, Lyngen Adventure HQ), return to Lyngseidet around 17:00
Pick-up from Tromsø at 08:45am (from Scandic Ishavshotel), Arrival back in Tromsø at around 7.10 pm (19:10)


Included:
- Personal experience (4 guests max per guide)
- Transport from Tromsø (cost extra) or Lyngseidet
- All neccessary climbing equipment (warm climbing boots, crampons, harness, helmet and ice axes)
- Certified ice climbing guide
- Hot drinks and food

Requirements:
Guests are expected to be in normal physical shape. There is a 1.3 km hike on snow required each way, and even though ice climbing is a sport where technique beats brute force, it can be pretty tiring.

Very warm winter clothing (we are staying out in the cold for a longer period of time)
