Manndalen Sjøbuer offers seaside accommodation in the beautiful village of Manndalen by the Lyngenfjord. We have eight seaside cottages sleeping four people. We also rent out boats to our guests.
Manndalen Sjøbuer lies by the fjord in Kåfjorden, a sidearm to the Lyngenfjord. The 8 “sjøbuer” are nicely furnished, has a nice view of the fjord and almost all have their own sauna. Each sjøbu has room for 4 persons.
Manndalen is a special valley as the Sami, Kven and Norwegian cultures live side by side. The Centre for Northern Peoples, is only a few kilometres up in the valley and here you will find a museum, a library and a café. Furthermore the festival Riddu Riddu takes place here in july every year.
The 8 Sjøbuer, each 35 sqm, are side by side on the seaside and has a great overview of what happens in the harbour. All of them have a livingroom with a kitchen, bath and a bedroom for two persons on the ground floor as well as a loft with two beds. Most of the Sjøbuer has their own sauna. TV and free Wifi is, of course, available.
A big outdoor terrace and a grill is available for all to use.
During the summer Manndalen Sjøbuer is popular among fishingtourists, as you can rent a boat during your stay, and there is a guttingshed which can be used by the guests. Manndalen also offers nice hikingtrails in the surrounding area.
During the winter there are good possibilities for skiing and snowshoeing in the area, as well as a place to enjoy the northern lights. The scootertrack and lighted ski trail starts close by.
From Tromsø it is approx.. 150 km to Manndalen. Skibotn (to the south) and Olderdalen (to the north) are both 33 km away. Approx. 1 km away you will find two supermarkets, a petrol station and “Grenebua”, the local “Husfliden” where local handcraft is produced, presented and sold.
