Experience Northern Norwegian food, farm life and Sami stories at Angell Gjestegård, around 15 minutes from Narvik city center. Here, guests gather around the fire in the lavvu for a close encounter with local flavors, traditions and hosts.
At Angell Gjestegård, Northern Norwegian hospitality, Sami traditions and farm life are at the center. On arrival, you will be greeted by the hosts before gathering around the fire in the traditional Sami lavvo. Here, a hot, homemade stew based on local ingredients is served, along with coffee cooked over an open fire and biscuits.
While you sit on sheepskins around the fire, the hosts share stories about the nature, people and traditions that have shaped life in the north. You will also meet the shaman Tone, who conveys Sami stories and traditions through storytelling and drumming ceremonies. Afterwards, there is time for questions, conversations and to enjoy the tranquility around the fire.
The visit continues out on the farm, where you get to meet the animals that live here. Say hello to the horses and dogs, and visit the chickens and rabbits. The experience combines food, stories, culture and everyday life on a small family farm just outside Narvik.
