Short Reindeer Sledding and Sámi Culture

This tour is operated by Tromsø Arctic Reindeer.

Travel from Tromsø to a reindeer camp surrounded by Arctic nature. Here, you will enjoy a 10–15-minute reindeer sledding ride through the valley and along the coast before meeting and feeding the herd.

You can also try lasso throwing before warming up inside a traditional gamme. A hot lunch of bidos, a traditional Sámi reindeer stew, is served around the fire together with hot drinks and cookies.

During the visit, your Sámi hosts will share stories about Sámi culture, history and reindeer herding. You will also experience joik, a traditional form of Sámi singing.

Food and drinks: A hot lunch of bidos, a traditional Sámi reindeer stew, is included. A vegetarian or vegan vegetable stew is available. Gluten-free and lactose-free alternatives are also available. Please provide details of any food allergies or dietary requirements when booking.

Please bring: At least two layers of warm clothing, a warm hat, mittens and winter boots
