Overview

North Sailing Norway offers ski and sail expeditions in the Lyngen Alps and surrounding islands on board one of our three traditional two-mast sailing ships. We will guide you to untouched destinations of the Arctic mountain range in Northern Norway.

Both Schooner Opal and Schooner Donna Wood comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests on our ski and sail expeditions. After a long day skiing, you will be able to enjoy our on-board sauna and hot tub. We provide high quality meals, prepared by our on-board chef using local ingredients.

Opal is a one of a kind, environmentally-friendly hybrid-electric Schooner. Donna Wood is a 100-year-old Schooner. It is also possible to book both ships for larger groups.

The amazing Lyngen Alps are world renowned for hosting some of the best ski to sea tour terrains in the world. The Lyngen mountain range is a 90 km long, and 20 km wide peninsula bordering Ullsfjord to the west and the Lyngenfjord to the east. The mountains vary in height and terrain, some reaching well over 1800 m, offering a great variety of ski touring for all levels of experience off the beaten track. Northern Norway is well known for persistent snow conditions and a long ski season.

East of the peninsula you have the mountains of Kåfjord with equally good skiing conditions, and with a breathtaking view of the Lyngen Alps. The outer islands further north; Kågen, Arnøya and Uløya, are also within close reach with the sailboat and provide exciting traverses.

With Donna Wood and Opal, we can sail to the best locations, depending on the snow and weather conditions, areas that are not reachable without a boat.

Our base harbour is in the heart of the Lyngen Alps, in the small town of Lyngseidet, known as the main skiing village on the peninsula.
