Telegrafbukta is a popular outdoor area at the southern tip of Tromsøya, with a sandy beach, coastal paths and views of the sea and surrounding mountains.
The area includes large grassy spaces, woodland, a sandy beach and a rocky shoreline. Facilities include play areas, outdoor fitness equipment, two beach volleyball courts, fire pits, benches and toilets.
In summer, Telegrafbukta is a popular place for picnics, sunbathing and swimming. Cold-water swimming also takes place throughout the year, and the local bathing club Ishud meets here for its regular Friday swim. During the darker months, Telegrafbukta can also be a good place to look for the northern lights when the sky is clear.
A walking trail continues from Telegrafbukta around Sydspissen, with benches and fire pits along the way. Parts of the area have accessible paths, and there are designated accessible parking spaces and an accessible toilet. Please note that some toilet facilities are seasonal.
Close to Telegrafbukta is Perspektivet Folkeparken, an open-air museum with historic buildings from Tromsø and the surrounding region. The museum hosts exhibitions, activities and events during the summer season. Check the opening times for Perspektivet Folkeparken before your visit.
Telegrafbukta is also the setting for Bukta Tromsø Open Air Festival, an annual music festival held during the summer.
