Are you interested in folk music and would like to dive deep into our archives? Are you planning a recording? Would your children like to the play the Harding fiddle? Please contact our folk music centre to make an appointment.

The folk music centre is responsible for conserving and providing information about folk music and dance in Buskerud. We have a large archive of Norwegian folk music, our own recording studio and a concert venue with fantastic acoustics. We also hire out Harding fiddles and have one of Norway's greatest CD collections.

In addition, we sell folk music instruments and provide information on artists and courses etc.
The centre organises an annual talent school for young folk music artists between 14 and 22, who have been trained in their local environment and now want to develop into performing artists.

In the second weekend of November every year, Buskerud folk music association holds a gathering for children and youths. Old traditions are promoted and exciting new ideas are created when the old and the new cross paths.

The folk music centre offers accommodation and rents out premises for concerts, practice, functions and meetings.
