Where is Værlandet Havhotell?

Værlandet Havhotell is located on the island of Værlandet, out west in Askvoll municipality. Travel time is around two hours from Førde and 3–4 hours from Bergen. You’ll need to take a ferry from Askvoll or Fure to Værlandet.

Alternatively, you can travel by Norled express boat with daily departures from Bergen or Selje to Askvoll. From Askvoll, take the ferry out to Værlandet. Once there, you can rent a bike from Joker Værlandet on the quay.

About Værlandet Havhotell

Værlandet Havhotell is an apartment hotel offering unique accommodation to hotel standards, with beautiful sea views from every room. The hotel has eight rooms/units, which can be booked as double or single rooms. Six of the rooms can be upgraded to family rooms with an extra bedroom, creating a two-room apartment. Two rooms are universally accessible.

Both hotel buildings offer spectacular views of the sky and sea, and each room has its own theme, reflected in colors and interior design. Themes include ocean, nature, wildlife, geology, fishing, and history.

Accommodation Details

All rooms are equipped with double beds and practical furnishings to ensure a comfortable stay. You’ll find a small seating area with two light armchairs and a coffee table, plus a kitchen table with chairs. In the family room upgrades, the additional bedroom includes stools for extra seating.

All rooms have a private bathroom with shower, and a small kitchenette with fridge/freezer, two hotplates, microwave, and kettle, plus basic kitchenware and utensils for four people.

Double Room / Family Room

Six rooms include a small extra bedroom in the hallway with a built-in family bunk bed (120/75 x 200 cm) and a separate entrance door.

Universally Accessible Rooms

Two of the rooms are fully accessible and do not include an extra bedroom.

Breakfast

Breakfast is available May to September as an optional add-on. Outside this period, you can prepare your own breakfast in the in-room kitchenette. There is no shared lounge or restaurant on site.
