Ypsilon
Ypsilon Bridge from 2008 is an architectural masterpiece integral to the city's identity. It connects the Knowledge Park in Grønland to the city park in Bragernes and serves as a vibrant urban space. The slender steel structure has quickly become an icon for Drammen. Its unique shape earned it the name, and from the air, it resembles a Y. Architect Arne Eggen designed this award-winning bridge.
A well-known axis between Bragernes Church and Marienlyst defines the city centre. With Ypsilon, a new axis has been created in the city, almost a cultural axis where Ypsilon spans between the city park and the library, between Union Scene and Drammens Teater. And there is a vibrant atmosphere here!
Starting from Ypsilon and taking advantage of the excellent walkways along the riverbanks, you can create your own "Ypsilon rounds" on foot, at a leisurely jogging pace, or by bike.
