Zipline at Mt. Ulriken

The fastest zipline in Norway! The zipline on Mt Ulriken, the highest of Bergen's mountains (643 metres), offers scenic views and an adrenaline rush.

This adventure takes place on Mt Ulriken (643 metres), which is the highest of Bergen’s mountains. The zipline offers scenic views and an adrenaline rush. It is not physically demanding, but rather mentally challenging, and you get a great sense of achievement when you reach the end. This is Norway's fastest zipline!

The zipline starts under the terrace in front of the restaurant on Mt Ulriken, and glides 300 metres in the direction of Mt Fløyen. There are instructors at both ends to ensure you have a safe "flight".

The zipline is 300 metres long.

Practical information

Meet at the designated time beside the zipline, which is located by the flag on the North side of the restaurant. 
Please ensure you arrive on top of Mt Ulriken before the time you have booked. Note that approx. 10 people can be booked to do the zipline per hour, so there may be some waiting.

If you arrive late, we will try to get you on the zipline as quickly as possible. After you have done the Zipline, there is a 10-minute hike back to the top. There is a hiking trail and instructions will be given.
Also note that there may be queues for the Ulriken cable car. We would advise you to take a bus from the city center of Bergen 1-2 hours before the time you have booked to ensure that you arrive on time. This will also give you time to enjoy the views from the top of the mountain.

Age and weight limit:
From 8 years and up to 100 kg/220lb.

Back or neck problems:
Be advised there is an impact when you hit the automatic break.

Pregnancy:
Not recommended.

Alcohol or other drugs:
Not allowed before or during the Zipline.

Equipment:
We provide the Zipline gear (Helmet, climbing harness and trinse)

The Zipline is located 600m above sea level so the climate is very different from the city center. The wind is stronger, the temperature is lower and the humidity is higher. Dress according to the weather. Rain/wind proof jacket and hiking shoes is recommended. 

The top priority is safety, please note that the Zipline may close due to wind/weather. If there is a chance of cancellation because of safety, there will be sent out an e-mail and/or text. Therefore, please check your e-mail (and spam folder) the morning of your booking. ​​​​​​

How to get to the top of Mt Ulriken
Ulriken is the highest of the seven mountains surrounding Bergen. You can take the Ulriken cable car to the top or you can hike to the top. From the city center you can take the bus to the Ulriken cable car. Choose between the Ulriken bus or public transport.

The Ulriken bus:
From 1 May until the end of the summer season, Ulriken643 offers shuttle bus service from the city center to Ulriksbanen. The bus stop is close to the Tourist Information outside the entrance to the restaurant called Bjerk (Torgallmenningen 1A). Departure approximately every 30 minutes. (on the hour and half past). Prices: return ticket adult NOK 100, children NOK 50. You buy the ticket when boarding.

Public transport:
Bybanen (Bergen Light Rail) line number 2 from city center to Haukeland Sykehus. Or bus no. 5 or 6 from Festplassen, no. 12 from Olav Kyrres gate or 16E from Xhibition. Get off at the stop Haukeland Sykehus C and D. Follow the signs from there, about 10 mins. walk.

•    Book a slot for the zipline. The zipline must be booked at least 1 hour before the start time.
•    Please ensure you arrive on the top of Mt Ulriken before the time you have booked.

Included
•    Zipline with instructor and all the necessary equipment. The Ulriken cable car and bus are not included.

Groups
•    For groups of more than 10 persons, or those who want to do the zipline outside our opening hours, please contact us for further information.

Cancellation
•    Full refund if cancelled up to 48 hours before the booked time.
•    Note that the Zipline may close due to wind/bad weather. If so, you will receive a full refund.
