Deichman Bjørvika / Oslo Public Library, Main Branch

The main branch of the Deichman library is beautifully located in Bjørvika. In addition to thousands of books, the library also offers a cinema, open workshops, cafés, and ample space to relax, read and explore, by yourself or with other people. Deichman regularly hosts free events such as lectures, film screenings, courses, author talks and readings and activities for children and teenagers.

From the top floor you have a great view of the Oslo fjord. Here you will also find the Future Library, an art project where 100 recently written books will be stored for 100 years. Only in 2114, the books will be printed and published. In addition to books, Deichman Bjørvika also contains art installations, study rooms, sound studio, as well as various tools which you may use.
