Skottgården is an over 100-year-old farm and guesthouse in Brekken, 30 minutes from Røros. It is now hosted by the family Skott at Vauldalen Fjellhotell. Skottgården consists of eight buildings, all historical origin. The farm had an obligation to keep horses for transport and were documented as a guesthouse since 1850. Welcoming guests of all kinds, from travelers and royals. The living rooms has en historical atmosphere and there is something peaceful and good about Skottgården, none of the rooms are the same and you can clearly see that old treasures from the barn have been given new life. And outside in the enclusure you can see the horses grass gracefully. At Skottgården we welcome groups/families for traditional lunch or dinner, events like christening, birthdays, accommodation, small course and conference. We serve homemade traditional food and beverages from local producers. Experience Villa lighthouse to the vast ocean - a unique historical and technical cultural heritage on the island Villa in Flatanger. Villa lighthouse was the first lighthouse north of the Trondheim fjord when it was lit in 1839, and the last coalfired lighthouse in the world. It was in operation until 1890 and as a whole the construction (lighthouse, house and boathouse) was protected by law in 1991. It is maintained and managed by Villa Fyr Venneforening (Friends of Villa Lighthouse). History of Villa Fyr The Norwegian Parliament granted money for Villa Fyr in 1836 and in 1937 it was planned and the build was prepared. Premises had to be secured, drawings and detailed plans had to be worked out. Supplies of food, equipment and supplies had to be ordered. Transport had to be organized. Construction begain in the spring of 1838. Close to 70 men were employed. Men from Flatanger, Vågå and Trondheim were hired. The leader of the work was Asmund Hansen, who became the first keeper of the lighthouse (1839 - 64). Want to know more about Villa Fyr? Check out villafyr.no. Villa Fyr Venneforening was founded 3 April 1976. The decay of the construction was huge, and it has been a big task maintaining and restoring. All the work at the construction takes place in close cooperation with the cultural authorities. The whole construction appears today as in good condition. But in an area with rough weather, maintenance is an everlasting task. VFV has the responsibility for the construction today and rents the house for holidays. The effort of VFV is based on volunteer work, membership fees and support from the Directorate for Cultural Heritage and the Municipality of Flatanger. Are you looking for a completely unique experience? A little "Huckleberry Finn", only with better comfort. Then you can just read on. MS Teppa was launched in June 2022, and is now ready for adventure down the river Glomma. (Norway longest river) MS Teppa is a 40 sqm raft that is designed to travel in the same waterway as the timber has been transported for many hundreds of years. The fleet's base is at Nes Lensemuseum in Skiptvet municipality, where the host drive you by boat to the fleet. "Nature comes close, and you will feel the forces of the river, weather and wind" You can either spend the night when the raft is at anchor at an idyllic place in the middle of the river or anchor up by land. It is magical to be in the middle of the river in the evenings with a fire in the fire pan on board. In many places in Glomma there are nice coves where you can swim and enjoy yourself. You can stay up to 6 people. There is a fire pit and toilet on board. The fleet is also a good starting point for photographing animals and birds. Enjoy the silence and tranquility of an arctic dome located close to a historic seating area located in the municipality of Høylandet, north of Trøndelag. Høylandet municipality is along county road 17, and is a perfect place to make a stop if you are driving the E6 or the coastal highway (F17) north or south. Here you rent the entire space, and choose whether to stay as seating rooftops did in the 1950s, or perhaps more comfortably in the nearby seating area. It is 1.3 km to walk up to the dome from the parking lot, so we recommend at least two nights to get the full benefits of the place and the surrounding area.
