The Battle of Stiklestad in 1030 Norways most famous historic battle, where the Christian Viking King Olav Haraldsson fell. He later became known as St. Olav. This battle is considered the most important happening leading to the consolidation of Norways as a kingdom and Christianities definitive breakthrough in Norway. The St. Olav Drama and Festival The history experiences are numerous at Stiklestad today. Norways oldest and largest open air theatre "The St. Olav Drama" is the most famous, depicting the events before and after the battle. The play is performed yearly during the "St. Olav Days at Stiklestad" at the end of July. During the festival days, it is heaving with life and you can experience concerts, plays, guided tours, lectures, excursions and activities for the whole family. Forbord Dome is an exclusive glamping experience for two people in the heart of nature. You can sleep under the stars, enjoy the panoramic view over the Trondheimsfjorden, catch a magical sunset or see the fantastic northern lights if you're lucky. The dome is a full 23 square meters with a window in the roof and in the front and it is placed on a terrace on two levels with a seating area and fire pit. There are many great hiking opportunities in the area, how about a trip to the top of Forbordsfjellet? The dome is centrally located approx. 10 minutes from Trondheim Airport Værnes in Stjørdal and approx. 40 min. from Trondheim. The dome is placed by itself in the hillside up towards Forbordsfjellet, approx. 300 m.a.s.l and is open all year around. There are two parking options and the distance from parking to the dome is from 600-1500 meters depending on parking/route. You walk on a forest road from the car park to get all the way to the dome. In the dome there is a king-size double bed and a seating area for two people. There is plenty of heat in the dome (wood stove/diesel heater), but we recommend bringing warm clothes on cold days. You don't have to leave the dome to go to the bathroom, it has a separate room with a toilet. You are welcome to bring a dog or other pets, but due to allergies, these cannot be inside the dome. We do have a great dog house outside though. There is 10 liters of drinking water in the dome on arrival, otherwise little access to clean drinking water. You also have access to a primus and two saucepans for easy cooking. Remember that the primus must be used outdoors. There is also a grill grate for the brazier that can be used for grilling. Free access to tea and coffee.

Here you can spend the night in a sleeping carriage from the 1960s, in the middle of Namsen. This is a carriage that Gunde Svan once bought from Norway and we have bought back. Here you will find 10 compartments with 2 beds in each overlooking the river. Good mattresses in each bed. In each couch there is a washbasin with hot and cold water. The rooms are kept virtually identical to when the wagon was in operation. The sleeping carriage and the sanitary carriage are separated from the other cars by a distance of about 20 meters where there is a large seating area. This is reserved for overnight guests. Here you can enjoy the silence and calm with something good in the glass. In connection with the sleeping carriage there is a sanitary carriage with toilets, showers and a small drying room.

InderøyAquavit from Inderøy Distillery
116 years after the last bottle was filled at Sundes distillery in 1900, aquavit farmer Svein Berfjord brought the tradition back to Inderøy and today runs Inderøy distillery from Berg Farm in Inderøy. Cask-aged aquavit from Inderøy The monopoly scheme for the production of spirits was abolished in 2005, which opened opportunities for other than just Arcus to make and sell aquavit. Arcus is the company under the Vinmonopolet that had a monopoly on producing alcoholic beverages in Norway. In recent years, the focus on short-travelled, local and traditional food and drink has led to a new flourishing of small-scale aquavit production. Kjersti and Svein Berfjord at Berg Farm in Inderøy focus on farm tourism and have their own country farm store, farm butchery and restaurant. In 2015, they established Inderøy Distilleryt and the farm’s Inderøy caraway is now processed into cask-aged aquavit. They delivered the first bottles to the local Vinmonopol in 2016 – 116 years after the last local aquavit was distilled at Sundnes Brenneri. Inderøy caraway Caraway grown on Berg farm is one of the most important ingredients in the Inderøy aquavit. Svein observed that fruit farmers in the south and west had started making apple spirits and then got the idea to process the caraway he grows on the farm. There are eight / nine growers on Inderøy who produce almost all the caraway in Norway. Most Norwegian aquavit is probably produced with Inderøy caraway. They have been selling the caraway for many years to another large aquavit producer, Arcus. Thus, the idea of building a separate distillery was born. Svein jokingly says that from the time he started distilling in March 2015, he did not drive a car until April 2016. In addition to home-grown caraway, Berfjord has also used local junipers. Star anise, coriander, fennel and other widely used aquavit spices are of course also included. Aged in old sherry casks Aquavit must be matured in casks – a minimum of 12 months in 1000 liter casks and a minimum of 6 months in 500 liter casks. Svein has a 500 liter cask, but he wanted to do more than the minimum requirement. Therefore, the first aquavit Svein produced – Akevitt no 1 – spent 9 months in old sherry casks (Oloroso and PX) which he bought from the Spanish sherry house Fernando de Castilla. After aging in casks, the aquavit is pumped up into a milk tank, then cold-stabilized and filtered before being hoisted into another tank and ready for bottling. The Golden Aquavit (Den Gyldne Akevitt) – the first aquavit where ALL the raw materials are Norwegian Svein started by using only classic spices in the aquavits. But besides Inderøy caraway produced on the farm, the other spices were not particularly short-travelled or local. Anise seeds from Syria, star anise from China, fennel from Germany, coriander from Turkey and citrus from the Mediterranean countries. Thus, the idea of replacing these spices with something that grows locally was born. Since then, he has taken many walks in Inderøy and picked from the rich local flora. He has then distilled everything from dandelion to spruce shoots to give the aquavits a very special and local addition. The Golden Aquavit is a result of this process. It is the first aquavit where all the raw materials are Norwegian. All seeds and herbs have been harvested along the Golden Road. In the aquavit you will find, among other things, Inderøy caraway, watercress, mead, dandelion and spruce shoots. The aquavit is also sweetened with Inderøy honey. After that, it has been stored for 12 months in used Oloroso casks. The restaurant “The Hill 1125” stands proudly atop Hovden in the Oppdal Ski Center. This iconic establishment is a signature landmark of Oppdal, visible from the village below. Both locals from Oppdal, cabin-goers, and tourists from near and far come to enjoy the magnificent panoramic view and to taste the exciting offerings from the kitchen. At “The Hill 1125”, you can indulge in Italian pizza baked in a traditional wood-fired stone oven, delicious sandwiches, soups and stews, cakes and chocolates, and not to forget, freshly baked cinnamon buns. The restaurant’s opening hours are aligned with the seasons. During the winter season, it is open whenever the Hovden lift is operating – every weekend as well as on Thursdays and Fridays. When the winter season ends, the restaurant remains closed until the gondola opens for the summer season, during which both the gondola and the restaurant are open daily throughout the summer. In the fall, the restaurant opens on weekends, and during the autumn school holiday, it is usually open every day. The restaurant is suitable for everyone, regardless of age, as it is accessible to wheelchair users and families with strollers, despite being on a mountaintop. The gondolas are designed to accommodate wheelchairs, strollers, and bikes, and inside the restaurant, you will find both a handicap-accessible restroom and a changing table for babies. Kom Deg Ut Day is Norway's largest outdoor day - a day to celebrate the joy of being outside, regardless of experience and shape. Bring your family, friends and neighbors, and join us for a pleasant and low-threshold outdoor party for all generations. The event is free, and no registration is required. Toboggan run with a ball track for skis and tobogganing - we are setting up a playful hill with small obstacles and challenges. "VEIVALG" by BLE This is a performance you didn't know you needed to see! - audience «VEIVALG» is a genre-crossing folk music/theater performance by the company BLE. On stage is musician Bendik Smedåsgjelten Qvam, and plays everything from bokkehorn and lur, to electric guitar and violin with x number of pedals. Next to him is actor and musician Lisa Luni Thun. Together they tell a story about gentrification of Norwegian nature, cabin developments, old mountain huts, and a deaf grandfather's search for his own "forest tranquility". This is a warm and humorous performance, which also asks important questions about the choices we make, both on our own behalf, others' and not least - the environment around us. What consequences have they had, what are we left with, where does the road go next, and... where do you go... when these questions pile up, and everything around you suddenly feels a bit "too much"? Is there still peace to be found on that mountaintop far away? The performance is written and produced by BLE ; a cross-over company that, in terms of genre, is located where traditional folk music meets the electronic landscape, and the old-fashioned verse form meets newly written text that sometimes borders on slam poetry. The fighter pilot and air intelligence officer Ola Dan Eide died during the most dramatic period of the Cold War. Norwegian attack plans against Soviet targets, tactical nuclear weapons and espionage are the backdrop to the story of Ola Dan Eide. On the night of November 15, 1963, Ola Dan Eide is found dead in his room in command quarters G at Bodø main air station. Police officer Tore H. Sund enters room 106, but the body has already been taken away. There were clothes strewn across the floor, the bedclothes torn off, there is vomit and urine in the bed and blood spatter on the wall. On the front of the casket he sees an A, drawn in chalk. Photographs from Bodø Hospital show Ola Dan with large scratch marks on his neck, naked from the waist down. Back home in Bardufoss, 25-year-old Gerd Eide is waiting for a phone call from Ola Dan. Late at night she receives the devastating news that her great love has been found dead. Gerd never tells the truth, not even to the couple's own daughter Berit. After a short time, the police drop the case. The story of Ola Dan Eide and the suspicious death is forgotten - almost. Gerd Eide dies of cancer in 2014. For Berit Eide Skjørtvedt, her mother's death is the start of the search for her own story. The story of Ola Dan has been Åsted Norge's cold case throughout the fall of 2025. A large number of tips have been received in the case that will be followed up by Åsted Norge in the spring of 2026. Listen to the exciting lecture by: Dag Inge Korstad (b. 1970) has worked in the Air Force since 1990. He has his military education from the Air Force Academy and a master's degree from the Norwegian National Defence University. He also has a civilian education from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in history and social studies. In recent years, he has researched and immersed himself in Norwegian air force history, especially from the beginning of the Cold War. He has previously participated as a co-author in various professional books. This is his first independent publication. Trondhjem Art Association is pleased to announce the opening of the group exhibition A female gaze x3! The artist collective A Female Gaze, consisting of ten female photographers affiliated with Norway, has had the purpose of promoting the work of female photographers since 2021. Millions of selfies are taken each day, most of them by women and girls. The selfie as we know it today in a time when self-documentation and cameras are everywhere, is a development of the self-portrait, an image form that became common during the Renaissance. Self-portraits do not necessarily show who the person is, but rather how a person wishes to be perceived and how the portraitist perceives and defines themselves. In Trondhjem Art Association a female gaze is directed towards self-portraiture as a form of expression. Through self-portraiture, it is possible to simultaneously be the one who sees and the one who is seen, and thus gain the power of definition of oneself. A Female Gaze asks the question of where a self-portrait begins and ends. What does it mean to expose oneself to society's view of women, how does one take original self-portraits in the wake of social media, and where are the boundaries between staging and reality? The artists will be present during the opening and will participate in an artist talk where the audience will get to know the group better. Welcome!
