116 years after the last bottle was filled at Sundes distillery in 1900, aquavit farmer Svein Berfjord brought the tradition back to Inderøy and today runs Inderøy distillery from Berg Farm in Inderøy. Cask-aged aquavit from Inderøy The monopoly scheme for the production of spirits was abolished in 2005, which opened opportunities for other than just Arcus to make and sell aquavit. Arcus is the company under the Vinmonopolet that had a monopoly on producing alcoholic beverages in Norway. In recent years, the focus on short-travelled, local and traditional food and drink has led to a new flourishing of small-scale aquavit production. Kjersti and Svein Berfjord at Berg Farm in Inderøy focus on farm tourism and have their own country farm store, farm butchery and restaurant. In 2015, they established Inderøy Distilleryt and the farm’s Inderøy caraway is now processed into cask-aged aquavit. They delivered the first bottles to the local Vinmonopol in 2016 – 116 years after the last local aquavit was distilled at Sundnes Brenneri. Inderøy caraway Caraway grown on Berg farm is one of the most important ingredients in the Inderøy aquavit. Svein observed that fruit farmers in the south and west had started making apple spirits and then got the idea to process the caraway he grows on the farm. There are eight / nine growers on Inderøy who produce almost all the caraway in Norway. Most Norwegian aquavit is probably produced with Inderøy caraway. They have been selling the caraway for many years to another large aquavit producer, Arcus. Thus, the idea of building a separate distillery was born. Svein jokingly says that from the time he started distilling in March 2015, he did not drive a car until April 2016. In addition to home-grown caraway, Berfjord has also used local junipers. Star anise, coriander, fennel and other widely used aquavit spices are of course also included. Aged in old sherry casks Aquavit must be matured in casks – a minimum of 12 months in 1000 liter casks and a minimum of 6 months in 500 liter casks. Svein has a 500 liter cask, but he wanted to do more than the minimum requirement. Therefore, the first aquavit Svein produced – Akevitt no 1 – spent 9 months in old sherry casks (Oloroso and PX) which he bought from the Spanish sherry house Fernando de Castilla. After aging in casks, the aquavit is pumped up into a milk tank, then cold-stabilized and filtered before being hoisted into another tank and ready for bottling. The Golden Aquavit (Den Gyldne Akevitt) – the first aquavit where ALL the raw materials are Norwegian Svein started by using only classic spices in the aquavits. But besides Inderøy caraway produced on the farm, the other spices were not particularly short-travelled or local. Anise seeds from Syria, star anise from China, fennel from Germany, coriander from Turkey and citrus from the Mediterranean countries. Thus, the idea of replacing these spices with something that grows locally was born. Since then, he has taken many walks in Inderøy and picked from the rich local flora. He has then distilled everything from dandelion to spruce shoots to give the aquavits a very special and local addition. The Golden Aquavit is a result of this process. It is the first aquavit where all the raw materials are Norwegian. All seeds and herbs have been harvested along the Golden Road. In the aquavit you will find, among other things, Inderøy caraway, watercress, mead, dandelion and spruce shoots. The aquavit is also sweetened with Inderøy honey. After that, it has been stored for 12 months in used Oloroso casks. Svein now produces several types of aquavit See an overview of the different aquavits produced by Svein The aquavits are on the Vinmonopolet’s additional selection, which means that all of Vinmonopolet’s stores across the country can order in the aquavit. Join the aquavit farmer in the cask house Come for a unique experience with storytelling and aquavit tasting in the distillery where we produce the aquavit. Surrounded by rustic barrels filled with precious drops with a view into the production facility you can enjoy and assimilate knowledge in perfect harmony. Two of Norway's most beloved artists, Bjørn Eidsvåg and Bjarte Tjøstheim, are teaming up for a very special tour. With a unique combination of warmth, humor and musical quality, they invite the audience to an evening filled with laughter, wonder and reflection. Eidsvåg and Tjøstheim have known each other for several years. They have joked and joked together in Radioreseptjonen, and Bjørn has guested on Bjarte's TV series Presten, where he played a slightly more inflated version of himself. Now they are combining their strengths, wit and the little wisdom they have in a joint performance. There will be jokes and banter, but they will also make an attempt to reflect on small and large questions, they are good at wondering. Both have a church background, both have known faith and doubt, and both know what it is like to fall short. They are both tough and sensitive, and not least good at passing merciless judgments on themselves. At the same time, they are looking for grace, for someone who can tolerate them as they are. The audience can expect a performance filled with laughter, music and reflection. Eidsvåg's eminent band will provide musical weight, and Tjøstheim will also contribute with his rhythmic skills. Whether it will be edifying and soul-stirring, is unknown. But it will definitely not be boring, until the performance is too short.BoekenTrondheim25.03.2026 - 26.03.2026Turnéteateret i Trøndelag: "Home" // Trondheim
As soon as someone says "Heimert", memories are awakened. Secrets. Unity. Curiosity. Illicit fun - and a taste of something you perhaps shouldn't have done. For some, heimert is the taste of freedom, community and laughter. For others: shame, silence and tears. Ane Aass and Rasmus Rohde have delved into the history of home-brewed spirits and distilled a performance about the human urge for intoxication and drunkenness. In the play, we meet a father, a son and a young domestic helper. They meet in a house where the coffee cup is never empty, and memories are in the walls. We meet the one who left, the one who stayed and the one who still believes that life can be measured in pulse and points. What we drink, when we drink - and what we put on the system while doing so - says a lot about who we are and where we come from. Music is also a fundamental element in the performance and takes us from village festivals to hangovers, from Arnsteins to Carina Dahl. Welcome to a performance that smells of freshly brewed coffee and home-made brandy - and that tastes of both laughter and hurt.
Solo Antics Conductor: Tabita Berglund Violin: Baiba Skride Program Anna Thorvaldsdottir: Archora | Norwegian Premiere Dmitri Shostakovich: Violin Concerto No. 2 Béla Bartók: Concerto for Orchestra About the Concert The evening's duo, our own Tabita Berglund and Latvian Baiba Skride, are both highly sought after on the international concert stage, and this evening the program includes Shostakovich's virtuoso low-key Violin Concerto No. 2 and Bartok's somewhat iconic Concerto for Orchestra. We open with Anna Thorvallsdottir's Archora from 2022, a work based on the beginning of the world, primordial energy, and a parallel omnipresent force – a world that is both familiar and foreign, static and in motion, nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto was written for the legendary David Oistrakh and “belonged to him”, and for a long time few others dared to try their hand. But now a new generation has once again taken up this contemplative concerto, and Skride “makes it sound fresh and new”, according to Gramophone. According to the composer himself, a concerto for orchestra is a gradual transition from the serious to the life-affirming. Bartók’s use of Hungarian folklore is also a foundation in this piece, where Bartók unites the concerto with the symphony and the orchestra’s various instrument groups are highlighted and allowed to shine in a concerto for, precisely, the orchestra.Trondheim21.02.2026CLUB THIEF // ERIK SKANTZE

For Full spredning. The Musical Theatre Production Eplene i Messehagen (The Apples in the Messe Garden) From internal songs shared among friends to performing for thousands of enthusiastic Trønders, this group has experienced more than they ever imagined. With hits like Panzerfylla, Læven, and Apparatet, the band brings an evening of energy and atmosphere! But wait – that’s a different event. Let’s focus on the musical theatre piece: Eplene i Messehagen is a musical theatre production that explores the tensions between mine workers and management, broken dreams, class divides – all wrapped in humour and powerful music. Have you seen it? Heard the music? Been to Malm? Now’s your chance to experience Eplene i Messehagen – whether for the first time or once again. Since its premiere in 2008, this acclaimed production has been seen and heard by over 35,000 audience members. The mining history of Malm is told through themes of class, love, and hope – with a generous dose of humour and unforgettable music. Written and composed by Rasmus Rohde, this is musical theatre of a rare kind. The Title The name refers to the apple trees in the garden of Messa, the director’s residence at Fosdalens Bergverk, which operated the mine in Malm from 1906. No workers were allowed inside until 1980, though local youth often snuck into the garden to steal apples. Rasmus Rohde Rasmus Rohde wrote both the lyrics and music for Eplene i Messehagen. The script is inspired by company newsletters from Fosdalens Bergverk and interviews with mine workers and locals from Malm. The story is not a documentary, but a fictional narrative based on events that could have happened. Rasmus is a musician, lyricist, composer, and playwright. He studied music and history and is a trained screenwriter from the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer. Messehagen Messehagen is the garden of Messa, a grand villa in Malm that served for many years as the residence of the director of Fosdalens Bergverk. Built in the 1930s, the villa overlooks the Beitstadfjord. The director lived there until 1946, and in the early 1950s, the house was converted into a company residence. The large property included fruit trees and a private tennis court. Each year, company officials were invited to Christmas gatherings at Messa, but workers were never allowed inside. It wasn’t until the 1980s that ordinary people saw the interior. Messa was located on the east side of the Ressem River, across from Ressemlia, where company officials lived in elegant detached houses – nicknamed “Latterlia” (Laughter Hill). On the other side of the river, workers lived in Malmlia, an area known locally as “Korea.” While housewives in Korea shopped at local stores, some of the officials’ wives were chauffeured to Trondheim for exclusive shopping trips. Around 1960, the director paid about NOK 80 in rent for the villa and earned NOK 15,000 more annually than the Prime Minister. A Community Shaped by Mining Mining deeply influenced the local community. In the 1950s, record numbers were employed at the mine, bringing strong tax revenues to the village. A modern school and new community centre were built, and cultural life flourished. At the mine’s 50th anniversary in 1956, a festive dinner for 1,400 people was held in a giant tent at the school grounds, with Norwegian entertainment legend Leif Juster among the performers. Today, the director’s villa is privately owned. No one lives there, but it is occasionally used for events. Markus Lantto – Reven tenkjer ikkje på Gud / The Fox Does Not Think About God Exhibition: 17 January – 15 February 2026 Reven tenkjer ikkje på Gud is a solo exhibition by Markus Lantto that explores how religious and architectural forms produce authority, silence and recognition. Departing from the question “How does one create a general sacred form?”, Lantto investigates how space, materials and symbols act on the body before thought. The works point to how certain aesthetic experiences can give rise to something resembling belief — even for those who do not consider themselves religious. The exhibition consists of installations and wooden sculptures, combined with embroidery and a poetic sound work. With both warmth and scepticism, Reven tenkjer ikkje på Gud opens a space for reflection on belief, doubt and cultural inheritance. Practical information The exhibition is open from 17 January to 15 February 2026. Opening hours: Monday–Friday: 12:0017:00 Saturday–Sunday: 12:00–16:00 About the artist Markus Lantto (b. 1973, Kiruna) is a visual artist educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Umeå, where he studied Fine Art. He is also a writer and instrument maker. In his artistic practice, he is concerned with how materials, form, and space interact and evolve in relation to one another.
