Patti Smith Quartet
Patti Smith is a living legend – an artist who for more than five decades has moved seamlessly between poetry, rock, visual art and literature. When she moved to New York in 1967, she quickly became a central figure in the city’s art and music scene, and with her debut album Horses (1975) she wrote herself permanently into music history. Few artists have left such deep marks on the history of music, literature and art as Patti Smith. When she takes the stage, the audience encounters not just an artist – but an era, a rebellion and an artistic nerve that remains powerfully relevant. Through a series of critically acclaimed albums – from Easter with Because the Night to Dream of Life and the protest anthem People Have the Power – Smith has combined strong lyrics with raw and honest rock. In parallel, she has distinguished herself as an award-winning author, including with the book Just Kids, and has received numerous awards for her artistic work. Live, Patti Smith is something entirely unique. Together with her regular band, including Lenny Kaye and her son Jackson Smith, she delivers concerts that feel intimate – where the songs, the words and the moments are given room to breathe. The live experience is truly special. This is not nostalgia, but living art, performed with intensity and presence. It is quiet poetry, explosive rock and moments that settle in the body and stay there long after the final note. When Patti Smith plays at Forum Scene on 20 July at 20:00, it is a rare opportunity to experience one of the most significant artists of our time up close. Secure your ticket – this will be an evening for heart, mind and history. - BoekenBergen14.07.2026
