At Gol Campingsenter, just outside the town centre, you'll find Hallingstampen Friluftsbad. It is equipped with a large pool and a separate children's pool, both with a steady temperature of 25 degrees celsius. The facilities have modern wardrobes adapted for the disabled. GolTropicana Badeland
Tropicana is one of Norway's largest combined indoor and outdoor water parks. Mega slides, wave pools, caves, and the Wild River provide insane fun for both adults and children. Our two largest indoor slides are a whopping 106 and 98 meters long. There's a dedicated jungle area for the little ones, with water that is only 35 cm deep. A sauna is available for effective relaxation for adults.
GolGol Stave kerk
Gol Stave Church, which is in the mediaval park Gordarike, is a true copy of the Gol stave church built in the 1200s. The copy was built in the 1980s and consecrated by the bishop of Tunsberg in 1994. In the summer evening on Wednesdays there is a devotional and sometimes musical performance. The church is often used for weddings. The woodwork inside the church is still bright, and it is easy to spot all the beautiful carvings and details. Visit the church and be humbled by the mood you will be greeted by. Inside you can listen to the beautiful Gregorian choir music (cd). In the Viking Hall next to the exhibition you can study the stave church architecture. Same opening hours / entrance ticket as to the Gordarike Family Park. Gol stave church (Gol stavkirke) is a stave church originally from Gol, Hallingdal, Norway. It is now located in the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History at Bygdøy in Oslo, Norway. When the city built a new church around 1880, it was decided to demolish the old stave church. It was saved from destruction by the Society for the Preservation of Ancient Norwegian Monuments, which bought the materials in order to re-erect the church elsewhere. It was acquired by King Oscar II, who financed its relocation and restoration as the central building of his private open-air museum near Oslo. The restoration, overseen by architect Waldemar Hansteen, was completed in 1885. In 1907 this early open air museum, the world's first, was merged with the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History, which now manages the stave church, still nominally the property of the reigning monarch. The church is dendrochronologically dated to 1212. In the 1980s, the modern replica was erected in Gol.

GolStorefjelltoppen - Hiking at Golsfjellet
Storefjelltoppen is the highest point on Golsfjellet (GPS: 32 V 497079 6741847) and is located right next to Storefjell Resort Hotel. With an elevation of 1149 meters above sea level, Storefjelltoppen offers an impressive view of Hemsedalsfjella, Jotunheimen, and Skogshorn. At the summit, you'll find a viewing disc and a beautiful picture frame that can be used to capture moments and share them on Instagram. This turns the hike to Storefjelltoppen into a natural experience and an opportunity to create memories and share them with others through social media. Storefjelltoppen is part of Topp 11 – summit hikes for the whole family. The summit is most easily accessible from Einarset/Storefjell. Intersection numbers in the hiking directions refer to signs in the terrain and a free map of the area. From Einarset/Storefjell: Cross 421, 458 to Storefjelltoppen (summit 5). Total distance: 1.4 km.
GolNystølvarden - Hiking at Golsfjellet
Nystølvarden, at 1296 meters above sea level, is the highest point in Gol (GPS: 32 V 497079 6741847). Nystølvarden is situated on Søråsen/Golsfjellet, on the border between Oppland and Valdres. The view is impeccable in all directions. Nystølvarden is part of the Top 11 and makes for a fantastic family hike! The summit is easily accessible from both Brenn (Golsfjellet) and Søråsen. The intersection numbers in the hiking descriptions refer to signs in the terrain and a free map sketch of the area. From Golsfjellet/Brenn: Directions: Follow Rv 51 to Brennkrysset, continue on the gravel road towards Brenn. Hiking description: Cross 522 and 525 to Nystølvarden (peak 11). Total length 4.0 km. From Søråsen: Directions: Follow Rv 7 to Herad/Gol Campingsenter, follow signs towards Bagn to Frøysokstølan, then follow the gravel road to the barrier. Hiking description: Follow the blocked gravel road as far as it goes, then take off and follow the trail to the summit. Have a great hike!
GolLisbetnuten - Hiking at Gol
Lisbetnuten is just above Gol Center and is 691 meters above sea level. From Lisbetnuten, there is a fantastic view over Gol center with Hallingskarvet in the background. The hike to the most visited and popular viewpoint over Gol center starts near the Community Hall. It follows a trail between Tronderudvegen and the surrounding residential areas before continuing into the forested terrain. A hike suits most, but note that the trail is steep in the last hundred meters before the summit. At the top, you get a fantastic view over Gol! A top-notch hike that is equally enjoyable as an afternoon or day trip. Hiking description: Go up Robølevegen, just west of Gol Bakeri. Follow this road uphill. Then, turn right onto a marked trail to Vindfallet. First, there is a trail past the outdoor facilities of E-CO Vannkraft, then a forest road, and another trail. There is a gentle incline in forested terrain most of the way. Towards the top, the ascent becomes steeper. On the way down, there is a steep descent, partly on rocky terrain. You come down at the end of Robølevegen. Follow this road back to the starting point. The hike takes two and a half hours, including a lunch break. A gentler but longer variant of the hike is to go around Vindfallet. In that case, you must continue about 400 meters down Robølevegen before the trail into the forest begins.
GolLauvsjøen rond (Easy 5.3 km) - Gol
This is the family's own favourite trip. Here you can enjoy a break by the water, go swimming or rent a kanoo. This trip is suitable for everyone that can handle their own bike. You can park your car by the Lake Lauvsjøen (there is parking along the Golsfjellveien). The easiest way to Lauvsjøen is to follow the sign to Golsfjellet Vest from the town center. From the parking you go a couple of meters in the direction of the city center (to the right), then you follow the carriage-path towards the lakes of Vesletjernet/Lauvsjøen. After about one kilometer you get to the lakes where there is a smaller road going to the swimming and the rest stop. The road will continue to the only hill, about 300 meters long. Halfway up the hill you can go fishing or rent a kanoo at the mountainfarm Lauvsjøstølen. This mountainfarm is also open for visits every Wednesday and Thursday from July 1st until August 13th. Continue on the road back to the Golsfjellsvegen and the parking. Difficulty: Easy Ability for biketrolley: No Lowest/highest point: 905/948 m. Total rise: 85 m. Have a nice trip!
GolVeikulnatten - Hiking at Gol
On Veikulnatten, at an elevation of 1037 meters, you can capture Gol's very last sunbeams! The hike follows a forest road for five kilometers with a steady incline, providing a magical view when you reach the summit. It's a beautiful hike on a forest road with a magnificent view at the top! On clear days, you can see Hallingskarvet, the Hemsedal Mountains, and Jotunheimen. The hike takes three hours, including a break for food. Follow the gravel road southeast from Gol Hyttegrend and continue on this road for approximately 1.2 kilometers. Then, turn left onto a well-marked trail in an exciting terrain. The ascent is not very steep, but the terrain slopes steeply downward. We pass the building foundations at Trollset before the trail ascends towards Veikulstølane. The trail is well-marked towards Veikulnatten, offering a wide and expansive view! On the way down, we backtrack a bit before taking the trail downwards towards Grangard. Further down, there is a road to Skardet. This forest road is signposted, but the road itself is unmarked. Down by the road, we return approximately 500 meters to Gol Hyttegrend. For those who want a slightly longer hike, it may be a good idea to start at Danielsplassen near the highway. Here, there is a marked trail that is very steep towards the small farms Viddi and Uthalli. Starting point for the hike: Gol Hyttegrend Driving directions: Follow Rv. 7 from Gol city center towards Nesbyen/Oslo. After about 4 kilometers, turn off towards Bagn. Follow the signs to Gol Hyttegrend.
GolRondreis van Tisleifjorden (Easy - 37 km) - Golsfjellet
Follow the main road from Oset Høyfjellshotell along lake Tisleifjorden. Pass Golsfjellet Hotell and make a right after a few hundred metres uphill climb, follow the signs to Løggestølen. From Løggestølen to Nøreli the route follows a somewhat rough trail. the quality of this trail makes the route not suitable for small children, whether on bikes or on trailers. This trail will be improved and moved during July/August 2007. From Nørely, follow the road to Lykkja, on via Flyvatn and Langestølen to Buastølen. Turn right and cross the Tislei dam on your way back to Oset Høyfjellshotell. The route has many beautiful scenic points and great opportunities for swimming and picnicing. There is a shop at Langestølen.
GolThe small round trip of Golsfjellet (Easy/Medium - 20 km) - Golsfjellet
This round trip is for all ages, and it will give you a great view of the nearby mountain areas! Start at Oset Høyfjellshotell. Follow the road to Guriset, but take off midway through the inclines and follow the dirt road through Stølsdokki and Appelsintreet. Over Flæin you'll ride along an old tractor road (Gamle Gurisetvegen) to lake Lauvsjøen. The stretch over Flæin is of good quality, but not well suited for the very youngest cyclists or bike trailers. During rainy periods there will be some moisture in parts of the route. Make a right turn and follow the main road until you get back to Oset Høyfjellshotell.
GolEinarset cycling tour
12.5 km - The Einarset circuit ia an enjoyable cycling tour on gravel mountain roads and some trails. Wildflowers, bird song and viewpoints are among the things you can experience along the way. Take your time and enjoy the surroundings. On this tour even the youngest can be taken along as it is well suitable for a bike trailer.
GolAuenhaugen - Topp 11 - Golsfjellet
Auenhaugen located at Golsfjell Mountain Lodge / Auenhauglia the west of Gol and 1119 m. (GPS: 32 V 494 456 6.74456 million). The summit is easily accessible from the area by Golsfjell mountain lodge, where there is also parking. Tick numbers in the tour description refers to the sign in the ground and free sketch map of the area. From Golsfjell Mountain Lodge: Cross 109 through 160 and 161 to Auenhaugen (peak 9). Total length of 1.9 km Driving Directions Route 52 -> Robru -> Gol West -> Golsfjell Mountain Lodge Starting point: Auenhauglia. How to get there: Drive Rv52 to Robru and turn right onto county road 224 Follow about 5 km to Sörböle-junction, turn right and drive about 5 miles to the Gol West until you come to the farm team Auenhauglia. There, the landscape opens up and you look down on Tisleifjorden. Park at a large garage next to Golsfjell Mountain Lodge. Tour: Follow the marked trail and follow it up through the mountainous area and the top of Auenhaugen where it is incredibly nice view. Here are Skogshorn in Hemsedal, Hemsedal mountains, Hallingskarvet and nesningsfjella. In clear weather, see "Bitihorn" in Jotunheimen mountains and other mountains. Terrain: Great hiking with good track right up to the top. Turlengd: about 3 km. Hiking time: About 1 hour up.

Tubbehaugen camping Golsfjellet is where you will find our charming, quiet camping ground. Easily accessed from regional road RV 51; just follow the signposts and 500 m of gravel road to arrive at ‘Perlen on Golsfjellet’ (‘The Pearl of Golsfjellet’). The camping ground has 30 sites for tents, caravans and/or campervans. All sites have access to 16Amp electricity, and we have free WIFI! We also have cosy cabins, each with a little kitchen and can sleep up to 4 persons. The cabins are also very suitable for winter use! We have 2 sanitary buildings, where it is possible to wash and dry clothes.
