Er zijn maar weinig plaatsen met zo'n afwisselend landschap in één regio als Fjord-Noorwegen. Hieronder staan de beste wandelopties in de regio.
De mooiste wandelingen in Fjord-Noorwegen
In Fjord-Noorwegen vind je veel iconische bergen en rotsformaties, waaronder Preikestolen, de Romsdalseggen, Trolltunga en Kjerag. Ze bieden stuk voor stuk spectaculaire wandelpaden. Je vindt er ook tal van korte wandelroutes die ideaal zijn voor gezinnen met kinderen of voor wie liever geniet van mooie uitzichten zonder al te zware inspanning.

Ryfylke en de regio Stavanger
Ga naar Ryfylke als je de beroemdste Noorse wandelingen wilt maken. Beklim het bergplateau Preikestolen (de Preekstoel) dat 604 meter boven het Lysefjord hangt, of wandel naar Kjerag waar het grote ronde rotsblok Kjeragbolten tussen twee bergen ingeklemd zit. Maar er zijn ook veel andere fantastische wandelingen in de omgeving. Of je nou van plan bent om meerdere dagen van blokhut naar blokhut te trekken of kortere dagtochten wilt maken met steden zoals Stavanger of Sandnes als uitvalsbasis (zie hieronder): hier zit je altijd goed.
Haugesund en Haugalandet
Het landschap in Haugesund en Haugalandet wordt vaak vergeleken met scenes van tv-series zoals Game of Thrones en Vikings. En da's niet zo verwonderlijk, want het was meer dan 1.000 jaar de thuishaven van de Vikingen. Wandel door de historische bergen, slenter rustig langs het strand of bezoek één van de grotere eilanden en maak daar een tocht in de ongerepte natuur. Als beetje wandelaar mag eigenlijk de rotsformatie Himakånå niet ontbreken op je to-do-lijstje, want hij lijkt op een vrouwelijke trol!
FjæraGuided tour to the giant potholes at Rullestad
The giant potholes at Rullestad are a spectacular natural phenomenon that dates back more than 10,000 years. These naturally sculpted potholes in the rock have been shaped by water and ice across millennia. The area has recently been granted UNESCO status and is part of Geopark Sunnhordland.
Sunnhordland
Aan wandelopties geen gebrek in Sunnhordland met maar liefst 200 gemarkeerde routes - van wandelingen voor het hele gezin tot tochten voor bikkels naar bergtoppen van 1.400 meter hoog waar je een spectaculair uitzicht hebt. Maar je kunt natuurlijk ook kiezen om de North Sea Trail langs zee een stuk te volgen. Of schakel je liever een gids in voor een gletsjerwandeling op de Folgefonna, één van de grootste gletsjers van Noorwegen?
De regio Hardangerfjord
In Hardanger ligt natuurlijk de wereldberoemde Trolltunga, maar niet iedereen heeft zin in zo'n lange en pittige wandeling. Gelukkig zijn er heel wat andere opties in dit deel van Fjord-Noorwegen. Je kunt het panoramische wandelpad van Hare Majesteit Koningin Sonja volgen, je vergapen aan de vele watervallen (inclusief de spectaculaire Vøringsfossen-waterval) of in de lente schitterende wandelingen maken door de boomgaarden wanneer de fruitbomen volop in bloei staan. Daar kun je dan meteen de beste appelsap ter wereld proeven.
TyssedalTrolltunga
Trolltunga - also known as the Troll's Tongue - is the most spectacular rock formation in Norway. At 1180 meters above sea level, is lies about 700 meters above the lake Ringedalsvatnet. From the top, you have a fantastic view. The hike to Trolltunga starts in Skjeggedal and leads through the high mountains.
Bergen
Wat betreft prachtige vergezichten en toegankelijke paden in de buurt van het stadcentrum doen weinig steden het beter dan Bergen. Begin je dag in de bergen: neem de Fløibanen- of de Ulriken-kabelbaan naar boven, wandel naar beneden en dompel je daarna onder in de dynamiek van het stadsleven.

Het langste en diepste fjord van Noorwegen strekt zich zo'n 204 kilometer landinwaarts uit vanaf de kust en heeft meerdere prachtige fjordvertakkingen zoals het Nærøyfjord dat op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat. De streek rondom het Sognefjord heeft ook een aantal van de meest populaire wandelgebieden van Noorwegen in huis. Zo is er bijvoorbeeld de historische King’s Road naar het charmante stadje Lærdal, of wandel naar de bergen in de buurt van Flåm. Of misschien ben je wel op zoek naar de meest verbluffende Noorse valleien om er te wandelen?
Sunnfjord en de fjordenkust
Ontdek de wilde schoonheid van de Fjordenkust en Sunnfjord! Hike naar de iconische bergtoppen zoals Alden, Lihesten en Storehesten of ontdek de spectaculaire Hamnanova in Sunnfjord, een berg die een onvergetelijk panoramisch uitzicht biedt. De regio is een paradijs voor zowel ervaren wandelaars als gezinnen met jonge kinderen, met een breed scala aan goed gemarkeerde routes, waaronder het toegankelijke en windrijke Noordzeepad. In Sunnfjord, dat 'de bakermat van de watervallen' wordt genoemd, kun je het Watervallenpad volgen (vergeet je camera niet!).
Nordfjord
Tussen de grootste gletsjer van het Europese vasteland en de spectaculaire kustlijn is er voor wandelfans keuze te over, want Nordfjord heeft zijn maar liefs 230 gemarkeerde wandelroutes. Let op: als je op de gletsjers wilt gaan wandelen, doe dat dan nooit alleen en ga met een gids op pad. En als je er dan toch bent: neem zeker een kijkje in Loen waar je volop avonturen kunt beleven, zoals naar de top van de berg gaan met de Loen Skylift (kabelbaan). Oh ja, en natuurlijk zomerskiën in Stryn!

The mountains around Loen and Stryn are perfect for ski touring and backcountry skiing with views of the fjord and mountains. The Loen Skylift takes you up to 1011 metres above sea level/3316 ft., so you can set off with fresh legs. From Mt. Hoven you have many summits to choose from and even more downhill runs.
De regio Geirangerfjord
De meeste mensen brengen maar één dag door in dit alom bekende gebied, maar da's een grove fout! Het diepblauwe Geirangerfjord is omringd door imposante, met sneeuw bedekte bergtoppen, woeste watervallen en prachtig groene natuur. Ga mee op één van de vele begeleide excursies die er aangeboden worden en hoor de spannende verhalen van de gidsen aan, of ga lekker zelf aan de wandel in de buurt van het Geirangerfjord dat op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat.
We raden ook aan om buiten de drukste periode van de zomer te gaan. Veel mensen vinden zelfs dat de bergen er nóg beter uitzien in de winter.
GeirangerWaterfall walk in Geiranger
The walk up or down 327 steps, plateaus and high airy view points, going close to the surging Storfossen (waterfall). The Waterfall Walk runs from Geiranger center up to Norwegian Fjord Centre and Hotel Union or vice versa. The combination of wild nature and exciting architecture, attracts attention. The price tag on waterfall hiking project was 12 million Norwegian kroner and has been shared between private and public actors. The process of the project took more than 20 years.
Ålesund en Sunnmøre
De Sunnmørsalpane-bergketen spreekt al honderden jaren tot de verbeelding van wandelaars dankzij de toppen op duizelingwekkende hoogte en hun adembenemende uitzichten. De bergen langs de kust en op meerdere eilanden zijn lager en beter begaanbaar, maar bieden toch een geweldig uitzicht op de parelwitte stranden en op zee.

BarstadvikHiking trip to Molladalen (774 m.o.h.)
Molladalen is encircled by the spectacular Molladalstindane with well-known peaks such as Jønshorn, Randers Topp and Mohns Topp. By the glacier behind Mohns Topp lies the popular climbing objective Bladet. The area offers a comprehensive range of experiences, with everything from climbing on steep faces to tarn fishing and walks. Molladalen is also the family-friendly alternative. The shortest way to Molladalen is from Melbøsætra/Barstadsætra (marked path). From Molladalen you can go further on marked paths to Ytre Standal. At Standalseidet you find Standalhytta (cabin at 1,299 ft), suitable as a starting point for a summit tour to Kolåstinden (4,698 ft). Season May-Oct. Duration Approx. 2.5 hours to Molladalen - longer for day tours to the summits. Distance and total height gain: 3 km. 1,870 ft. Access Bus www.fjord1.no or car to Barstadvik, where you turn off and follow the road along Barstaddalen (toll roads) up to the car park at Melbøsætra/Barstadsætra. Worth noting There is a chain at the steepest point along Molladalselva. The area may be dangerous when conditions are icy. If you decide to go up into any of the gullies it is important to wear a helmet, especially if there are several people on the tour.
Noordwest
