Fjord-Noorwegen is een regio met diepblauwe fjorden, klaterende watervallen en steile, met sneeuw bedekte bergen die hoog boven het water uitrijzen.
Er zijn maar weinig regio's die zo in het oog springen als Fjord-Noorwegen. Dit landschap is ontstaan door opeenvolgende ijstijden, dus de volgende fjordvertakking of waterval is altijd wel in de buurt. Twee van de fjorden, namelijk het Geirangerfjord en het Nærøyfjord, hebben zelfs een plaatsje veroverd op de prestigieuze werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO.
Toch heeft Fjord-Noorwegen veel meer te bieden dan watervallen en verbluffende uitzichten. Langs de kust vind je niet alleen afgelegen eilandjes en levendige kustgemeenschappen, maar ook de meest fascinerende dorpen en steden van Noorwegen.
Je kunt er ook de overvloedige lokale culinaire tradities ontdekken die weerspiegelen wat er in elke plaats geteeld of verbouwd kon worden.

Trolltunga - also known as the Troll's Tongue - is the most spectacular rock formation in Norway. At 1180 meters above sea level, is lies about 700 meters above the lake Ringedalsvatnet. From the top, you have a fantastic view. The hike to Trolltunga starts in Skjeggedal and leads through the high mountains.
