Hoe kun je in de drukte van alledag tijd vrijmaken om quality time door te brengen met je familie?
Is het alweer een tijdje geleden dat opa en oma hun kleinkinderen zagen? Of viert iemand in de familie een jubileum? Neem iedereen mee op vakantie voor een gedenkwaardige viering!
Sommigen noemen het Grandymoon, om onze ouderen te bedanken, maar het zijn eigenlijk gewoon familievakanties. Hoe je het ook noemt, het draait erom dat je iedereen meeneemt om waardering te tonen en samen nieuwe herinneringen te maken.

Samen verblijven
De perfecte accommodatie vinden is misschien wel het belangrijkste bij het plannen van een familiereis. De accommodatie kan zelfs de bestemming zijn.
Wil je in aparte huisjes verblijven om wat persoonlijke ruimte te hebben of willen jullie allemaal samen onder één dak zijn? Samen eten en maaltijden bereiden of altijd uit eten (zodat niemand hoeft af te wassen!).
Boek ruim van tevoren om alle kamers die je wilt in hetzelfde hotel te krijgen. Of misschien is dit wel het moment om een luxe hut met meerdere slaapkamers en een sauna te huren? Je kunt zelfs een heel klein landelijk hotel voor jezelf boeken!
Of waarom niet een gegarandeerde favoriet bij de kinderen proberen: een boomhut! Zelfs oma van 80 kan weer gaan kamperen, als je er glamping van maakt, in comfortabele tenten met bedden, badkamer en verwarming. Bekijk hieronder een aantal mooie opties.

Vakantie in de sneeuw met je familie
Skiresorts hebben ruimte voor de hele familie en bieden volop leuke activiteiten in de sneeuw!
Neem de oudste kinderen mee om te genieten van de heerlijke pistes en jumps. De meeste skigebieden hebben speciale plekken voor kinderen. Wie een rustigere ervaring wil, kan zich terugtrekken voor een kalme langlauftocht door het besneeuwde bos. Als iemand niet kan skiën, is sleeën een klassieker. Je bent nooit te oud om lachend de heuvel af te gaan. Tante kan hondensleeën door het magische, besneeuwde landschap, geleid door enthousiaste, vrolijke husky's!
Ondertussen kunnen mama en oma ontspannen met een langverwachte spabehandeling. Alle grote skigebieden hebben luxe spa's en leuke waterparken en fitnessruimtes, met voor elk wat wils. Bekijk hier skiresorts met spa's.
Te stressvol? Het is helemaal prima om gewoon binnen te ontspannen met een goed boek bij de open haard. Bewonder het besneeuwde landschap vanuit je raam en geniet van langzaam koken om de andere familieleden te verwennen wanneer ze terugkomen van hun activiteiten. Daar is ook ruimte voor.
Boerderijvakanties voor de hele familie
Boerderij-accommodaties variëren van landelijke luxe in een landhuis tot eenvoudig leven op een rustieke zomerboerderij in de bergen. Ann Kristin Lyngset Otterlei en haar familie kozen voor een boerderijvakantie.
"Hier is voor iedereen wat wils, van de oudste tot de jongste," vertelt ze.
Haar familie verbleef op de boerderij Brimi Seter in Lom (afgebeeld), waar ze genoten van de verse boerderijgerechten en de serene omgeving.
"Niemand had haast en de boerderij gaf me het gevoel dat we terug in de tijd waren gegaan. We voelden ons heel veilig en de kinderen konden vrij rondrennen en buiten spelen," vertelt ze. Ze was ook dol op de zelfgemaakte ontbijtjes met lokale ingrediënten, waaronder melk, kazen, roerei en sappen.
De kinderen maakten nieuwe vriendjes met de koeien, de kat en de kippen. Ze hielpen met het voeren van de dieren en leerden over het boerenleven, dat al eeuwenlang een essentieel onderdeel vormt van het Noorse leven.
De groep reisde twee uur om hel te bezoeken, Helvete (Hel) Natuurpark, en de grootste kuilen van Noord-Europa te verkennen! Ze reden verder naar het zuiden om draisines (railvoertuigen) uit te proberen in Dokka en brachten de rest van hun verblijf door op boerderij Hesla in Gol.
"Wat ik zo fijn vond aan boerderij Hesla is dat het exclusief aanvoelde, maar toch betaalbaar was. We konden kiezen om in het hoofdgebouw te verblijven, in een bijgebouw of in een verbouwde traditionele voorraadschuur. We maakten een rustige wandeling naar het centrum van Gol, waar je een skatepark, waterpark en goede restaurants vindt. Iedereen heeft het geweldig naar zijn zin gehad," vertelt Ann Kristin.
Je vindt veel prachtige historische boerderijen in de valleien van Oost-Noorwegen, waaronder Gudbrandsdalen, Vågå, Lom en Telemark, waar je ook lokaal eten en drinken kunt kopen in het Fruitdorp Gvarv. In dit gebied kun je bovendien genieten van een cruise op het Telemarkkanaal. Sportieve bezoekers kunnen kajakken of fietsen langs het kanaal, terwijl de rest comfortabel kan varen aan boord van een kanaalboot.

Vakantie in de bergen
Nog een goede tip voor een avontuur met de familie is om opa en oma, ouders en kinderen mee te nemen naar de bergen!
Verblijf in een huisje of een traditionele en gezellige Noorse berglodge om stevige berggerechten te proberen, samen quality time te hebben en te genieten van veel kos, Noorse gezelligheid. In de bergen kun je genieten van wandeltochten, van korte gezinsvriendelijke tochten tot het beklimmen van een bergtop.
Geen zin om te wandelen? Kijk dan uit naar de robuuste Noorse paarden die gebouwd zijn voor dit type terrein. Ze dragen je graag erdoorheen! Paardrijden is een leuke en onvergetelijke manier voor alle leeftijden om samen de natuur te verkennen en ervan te genieten. Je kunt ook zoetwatervissen, fietsen of gewoon ontspannen met een goed boek in een comfortabele stoel.
Een handige tip is dat skiresorts ook het hele jaar geopend zijn. Buiten het wintersportseizoen profiteer je van minder drukte en meer ruimte. Er zijn prachtige hotels en grote hutten te huur. Wanneer de sneeuw gesmolten is, veranderen de alpinepistes in een paradijs voor (downhill)mountainbiken. De spa's en zwembaden zijn ook het hele jaar geopend, onder andere in Trysil, Geilo en Hemsedal.
En vergeet niet, gondels en kabelbanen zorgen ervoor dat elk familielid de top kan bereiken! De sportieve leden kunnen wandelen, terwijl de rest de gondel neemt, en jullie kunnen vervolgens samen lunchen aan de top om van het prachtige uitzicht te genieten!
De Loen Skylift in Nordfjord, de Romsdal-gondel in Åndalsnes en de historische kabelbaan Gaustabanen in Telemark naar Gaustatoppen zijn allemaal uitstekende opties voor gemakkelijke ritten naar boven die tal van leuke activiteiten bieden, van spahotels tot via ferrata’s!
Fjordavonturen voor grote families
Je hebt niet meer dan een fjord nodig om de hele familie te vermaken! Voor een rustig uitstapje gebruik je een fjord als startpunt voor alle activiteiten die je wilt proberen. Neem iedereen mee op een fjordcruise voor het hele gezin om de indrukwekkende bergen en watervallen te verkennen of ga kajakken.
Een goede tip is om naar een van de rustigere, minder bezochte fjorden te gaan, waar je nog steeds een geweldig fjordlandschap ervaart, zonder de drukte van de populairste fjorden.
Nordfjord is bijvoorbeeld een prachtig gebied dat beroemd is om het fjordenpaard en het Myklebust-vikingschip, een replica op ware grootte van het grootste vikingschip dat ooit in Noorwegen is gevonden. Een andere optie is om verder naar het noorden te rijden naar het Hjørundfjord in Sunnmøre, een verborgen parel die bekendstaat om zijn imposante bergen en leuke schommels met fjorduitzicht (afgebeeld). In het binnenste deel van het Sognefjord heeft het Lustrafjord veel te bieden voor families, waaronder gletsjerwandelingen, raften en een klein maar uniek overdekt waterpark, Lustrabadet.
Een ander leuk fjord is het Hardangerfjord, met fruitboerderijen, schilderachtige wandelingen, via ferrata’s en de schitterende Folgefonna-gletsjer. Iets verder naar het zuiden ligt Åkrafjorden, een rustig fjord dat verscholen ligt en een uitstekend startpunt vormt voor activiteiten en fjordavonturen.
Waar je ook naartoe gaat, de lokale bewoners die aan het fjord wonen staan altijd klaar om je met open armen te verwelkomen, waardoor je familievakantie aan het fjord onvergetelijk wordt.
Arctische uitstapjes voor iedereen
Noord-Noorwegen is de plek waar elk gezinslid zijn eigen ritme kan volgen, gedurende de dag én de nacht.
De middernachtzon zorgt ervoor dat oom Bart en je oudste zoon de hele nacht kunnen golfen. Tante kan om 5 uur 's ochtends opstaan voor wat ochtendyoga voor het ontbijt, terwijl jij kunt genieten van het uitzicht op de oceaan vanuit je slaapkamerraam. Het leven voelt gewoon simpeler wanneer de zon nooit ondergaat.
Neem het hele gezin mee voor een picknick op een wit zandstrand en daag ze uit om een (mogelijk koude) duik in de oceaan te nemen! Huur kajaks, SUP's of roeiboten om de prachtige eilandengroep in dit deel van het land te ontdekken. Een vistocht met het hele gezin is ook onvergetelijk.
Heb je ooit een walvis gezien? Nu is het moment! Walvissen spotten is voor iedereen een indrukwekkende ervaring!
Als je in de herfst, winter of het vroege voorjaar op bezoek komt, laat het noorderlicht zich misschien zien en betovert jong en oud. Het magische is dat dit licht er nooit hetzelfde uitziet: de vormen, schaal en kleuren veranderen elke keer. Neem wollen kleding, dekens en warme chocolademelk mee en geniet van de gratis voorstelling als het noorderlicht besluit in de hemel te dansen.
Stedentrips voor het hele gezin
Droom je van stedelijk comfort en gemak? Noorse steden zijn compact en goed te voet te verkennen en hebben voor ieder wat wils. Met vliegverbindingen naar de meeste grote steden is het eenvoudig om je citytrip met de hele familie te plannen.
Bezoek je favoriete musea, of je nu van kunst, geschiedenis, technologie of muziek houdt. Op de meeste plekken krijg je familiekorting en veel musea hebben ook activiteiten voor kinderen.
Iets anders wat je samen kunt doen is beeldenparken verkennen zoals het Vigeland Park of het Ekeberg Park in Oslo. Of maak een dagtrip net buiten de hoofdstad om de unieke, enorme openluchtkunstinstallaties bij Kistefos Museum in Hadeland of de culturele bestemming Ramme Gård in Son te ontdekken. Dit zijn leuke en inspirerende manieren om in de natuur te zijn terwijl je exclusieve kunst bewondert. Dierenparken, dierentuinen en aquaria zijn geweldig voor alle leeftijden, vooral voor de dierenliefhebbers in je gezin.
Gebruikt iemand in je gezin een rolstoel? Of heeft de jongste reiziger nog een buggy nodig? Veel Noorse attracties zijn universeel toegankelijk (artikel in het Engels) en verwelkomen iedereen, vooral in de steden. De havenpromenade in Oslo is een 8 kilometer lang pad langs het Oslofjord, perfect voor iedereen op wielen.
Veel steden, zoals Oslo en Kristiansand, hebben zelfs stadsstranden waar je op warme dagen kunt zonnebaden terwijl de kinderen zandkastelen bouwen en zwemmen. Als het weer te koud is, bezoek je een hete sauna. Het is een prima manier om te ontspannen en samen tijd door te brengen op z'n Noors.
